How nice. It must be special to go through all seasons in California. Nothwistanding some of its harshness. I only know bits and pieces.

Such a wildly diverse, stunning set of photos, Jane. Some of these really bring the feeling of a Monet coming to life in spring 🙂 I think this spring season has treated you, and California, quite well – a lot of rain, and such beautiful blooms and colors the result.

Great title! And Betty Boop rose, too! A fun name for a rather flamboyant, lighthearted rose. 🙂 You had fun, that’s obvious. It’s interesting to contrast your spring and what’s up here. The flowers here are very small except those that grow by people’s homes, like the tulips and irises. I’ve been admiring them only as I walk or drive by. The flowers I photograph have adapted to such different circumstances and they’re usually surrounded by lots of scattered sticks, needles, grass, etc. Here, I can enjoy the full-on effect. 🙂 I Love Betty, the bee, and Awakening…

Thank you, Lynn. I love all the names given to the varieties of roses. The wildflowers do have a different feel and it takes getting very close to appreciate them, which you do beautifully. Glad you enjoyed these cultivated blooms which are much easier to find! 😄🌺🌼

Apple varieties have great names, too. There was a man growing old apples back in the hills in northern NJ, outside of Boonton. During high school, I used to drive up there (in season) and admire all the varieties he would put out for sale. It was a good education. 🙂 I’m not sure cultivated flowers are always easier to find – depends on where you are, right? 😉

They do! Fun to see all the varieties at farmers’ markets. I grew up not far from Boonton. I brought my kindergartners apple picking in that area way back when. 🍎😄

Wow! I especially love the rebel yellow tulip (because I’m one too), and the calla lily is exquisite. I love the Japanese bridge too, so reminiscent of Giverny (which I have yet to visit, and must some day). Thank you for so much joy. Your photography is a real gift to us all.
