    I think I have told you this many times before… but Big Sur is one of the most magical places I have ever been. These photos show why, and some of them are beautifully similar to the experience I had when I stayed there (Post Ranch Inn)… out on a bench overlooking a fog bank with the ocean below with my coffee and a deer comes walking right past me. I was in heaven 🙂 Thank you for the memories!

    A unique take on Big Sur, which is probably not an easy thing to do, given how well-loved it is. Thank you for going out on a limb and keeping things pared down to the basics: fog, water, more fog, soaring birds, evergreens, and more fog. And lots of space! 🙂

    Jane… as always you’ve captured the essence. I lingered longingly with the memories from my first visits (1968) to this magical, mystical piece on earth that you present so beautifully.
    Is that last shot one of the returning condors? We’ve followed their reintroduction for years now. Hoping that they manage to contain the Avian Flu that could harm the progress they’ve made in this majestic bird’s recovery.
    Thank you for sharing these. They made my heart sing.

      Thank you so much, Gunta. I’m happy these bring back those wonderful memories of Big Sur. It is as magical and mystical as ever. I was mesmerized by the birds in flight- in closer examination, I’m pretty sure they are Ravens. No markings or head like a Condor. I agree, Avian Flu is a scary threat.
