Hi Terri, I will check out your B&Ws. As much as I love color, monochrome is close to my heart in many ways. I’m happy you enjoyed this colorful series- thanks so much!
Wow wow wow! The vibrancy of the sunrise in eucalyptus photo is amazing! I also love the plants and the geometric patterns of the water on the plants. You’re very talented! Thank you so much for sharing your work with us 😃🥰
This post really shows off your versatility, Jane. The Rose Parade photos are excellent! Our small town has a few parades a year and I’ve made lots of photos, only a very few of which are at all decent. The heron is very nice, too. I know they’re good at posing, which helps, but you still have to get the exposure and focus just right, and you did. Of course I really like the plants – in spite of living in Pasadena, you’ve perfected raindrops on foliage. 😉
Did you happen to see the NY Times article this morning about NYC becoming LA? Check it out, it’s funny.
Here’s to color and light and cameras and blogs! 🙂
Hi Lynn, Always appreciative of your reaction- thank you! The Rose Parade is surprisingly easy and fun to enjoy. My granddaughter was enthralled. I managed to capitalize with mostly close-ups after the remarkable amount of rainfall. I looked for that NYT article with no luck – will search again. Did you catch the Renkl piece this week about Dorothea Lange and current day photography? Yes, here’s to lightseeking and photos! 🤗
No, I didn’t see the one about Dorothea Lange – I’ll send you a link to the other one. There’s always too much to read. I’m glad we have photography to get us out! 😉
Another lovely collection Jane 🙂 I don’t think you’ll be surprised at my choice of favourites: Palm Geometry, Last Dance, Plant Tango, Succulent in Rain! And if I had to pick just one, probably Last Dance 😮
Not surprise that you’re drawn to the nature close-ups. 🙂 Thank you! I’m working on images of flowers past their prime and I think the white background shows off their intricacies and colors. Glad you enjoyed this set. 🙂
As often happens here, I started out thinking of picking a favorite but was stymied by the beauty of all of them. It’s a good problem to have, though. 🙂
Cheers to another brilliant collection. I must say, some of the titles also made me smile – especially Plant Tango and Last Dance. I love the oranges of sunrise and sunset. Last night I saw a bright orange to the west, then turned around to see a rainbow to the east. The comb was special.
Growing up, we always watched this parade, marveling at the floats all made of flowers. Nowadays, the non-stop commercials and chatter of hosts just kill the joy of it, alas.
What a great memory, Eliza. Agree, that does detract greatly fro the enjoyment.
The construction of bleachers and “TV corner” for the media is massive and starts in November, which is a bit annoying!
Thanks very much, Jude. Happy you like this mix. Took advantage of the rain and the tulips are an ongoing love of fading flowers. And I appreciate you noticing the tuba reflections! 🤗
Thanks, Robert. Funny, there was a pretty pair of ducks in this small pond and I was standing there admiring them and suddenly realized this enormous heron was standing motionless about three feet to my left. He continued to pose while I took his portrait which was rather amazing. 🙂
Wonderful sightings, Jane. I am a sucker for water drops so obviously the Palm an Sedum shots are my favorites. But I also liked the reflections in the tubas and, of course, the opening sunrise shot.
Wow, this is so beautiful 🤩
