Golden Gate Moods

  1. More views of the Bridge, each one showing its form from a different perspective. I had the rather static conventional image stuck in my mind. That has now disappeared for ever thanks to your creation of different visual realities.

  2. What a bonanza of terrific SF photos, Jane, I really enjoyed them. I especially liked the sand dunes in the foreground, a unique perspective, and the Night Delight was also really unusual, almost surreal. Such a picturesque bridge and you really go to town with finding the most wonderful perspectives. Highlighting the fog here was wonderful. I crossed the GGB this week and, being summer and an early morning, the fog was in a beautiful thick layer…I thought of you and the art you would make of it. Cheers, my friend, and thanks.

    • Warms my heart that you thought of me as you crossed the foggy bridge, Jet. I would’ve been snapping away! 🙂 Pleased you enjoyed this homage to the ever-changing scenes at the bridge. I just love how dynamic the bay is. Night Delight is a taken from a great spot at the hotel in the Presidio. Pretty unique viewpoint. Thanks so much and wishing you and Athena all the best for a great summer! ☀️

  16. An eye-popping paean to your favorite place…and the SF quotes are so much fun! ‘Flying Free’ really appeals to me with the skinny shapes and restrained palette. ‘Low Tide’ makes me wonder how many people will be poking around today, with a super-low tide happening around lunchtime (at least it is here). I like the way the fog weaves in and out of the struts in ‘Engulfed’ and I feel like the pier-walkers felt lucky that day. ‘Beach Time’ works really well in that pano format. And the evening photos sparkle with warm affection. I’m left thinking gee, I wonder how many photos in Jane’s LR catalog are keyworded, “SF BRidge?” 😉

    • Hi Lynn, What a week– all kinds of weather from alluring fog to hot beach days. SF has it all. Glad you appreciate the love in these photos. I’ll have to look up my GG keyword- now that will be eye-popping! Thanks for your great response to these. 🤗🌁

      • And super-low tides now! I saw that hot weather, crazy. We’re still in an unusually cool, wet period up here and every bit of bright sunshine and warmth is relished. But no one complains that much when so much of the country is too hot. 😉

  19. That quote from Mary Moore Mason is hilarious. I really like the beach dunes photo with the flowers, sand and bridge in layers, but Night Delight might be my favorite – that is a cool view with interesting geometry and light.

  20. An endless source of inspiration. Well done. Some of the photos reminded me of my wife and I walking the bridge through a total fog to Marin County. (But we did it!)

  24. There is something so magical about seeing the Golden Gate enshrouded in fog! Beautiful captures, Jane! Is that the beach at Chrissy Field? I spotted some wing-foilers getting ready to fly.

  35. Jane! DUDE! You got me with the hello there pic! It’s like that good looking guy you hoped to see looking at you by your high school locker the Jake Ryan of your day. That’s the caption and picture you got me with in the Hello There pic! Ha! I like it! I’m really digging this series, I mean I know I enjoy your pics all the time, but Frisco is great … except for the Giants … booooo 🙂 that quote you posted about San Francisco and heaven reminded me of that Field of Dreams quote. Is this heaven? No … it’s Iowa. Ha! But thanks for these pics I always go on a trip with your visual stories. You capture that feeling-feeling really well. Thanks.
