  15. Beautiful tribute, Jane. The colors throughout this post is so similar to the solidarity shown globally towards peace ~ and this alone does match your opening theme and photo of “Strength in Numbers.” Wonderful, wonderful work ~ and wonderful words as well.

  26. Beautiful pics, Jane.

Confronting evil (the Einstein quote) is not he easiest task. It requires steadfastness and determination. There is no accommodation, no reasoning with evil, particularly since it involves dealing with madmen and madwomen (yes, they exist too). In Matthew and Mark, the passage referring to the beginning of sorrows speaking of war and rumors of war, Jesus asks you need not be alarmed, “for this is something that must happen, but the end will not be yet. For nation will be against nation, kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All this is only the beginning of birthpangs.” Translation: we’ll get through this; there will be suffering for certain. It will take awhile to get through the madmen era to the endpoint, where the Captain Kirk quote in Star Trek, “I will not kill today,” becomes real. Each of us has work on that, including those who profess peace. (I had to look up the Matthew/Mark quote to get the wording right.) Hopefully, Ukraine does not become a superpower confrontation. If it does …

  29. The Einstein quote struck me the most as we worriedly watch this invasion unfold. Desperate to stop Putin, but knowing that stirring the pot will only give him an excuse to invade the rest of Europe. As hard as it is to not think about what happened in 1938/9 we also know the consequences of entering into war with a madman. I fear that he will not hesitate in using all the weapons he has.

    • Hi Jude, The Einstein quote really rang true for me, too. This is a frightening time and with hope history will not repeat itself. This is devastating for the people of Ukraine. Heartbreaking. Thank you for weighing in. 💙💛

  36. Lovely peaceful images Jane.
Living in Europe at the moment is a very tense and frightening time. Lots of people are saying we must do more to stop the madman and his despotic cronies but do they really know the consequences? The deranged putin has already given (not so) veiled threats of what would happen if the West got more involved and I have no reason not to believe he would ‘press the button’ then what?
I wait to see where sanity will come from, I fear I’m in for a long wait.

    • Brian, It must be frightening and unsettling to be close by. I’m sorry. He’s on the world stage now and hopefully the solidarity of the world against his actions will stop him. Hope for peace. Take care and thank you. 🇺🇦
