  2. Super San Diego scenes that in combination give us viewers a wonderful sense of place. Two favorites: ‘Surfer’s Morning’ … it allows us to imagine a cool surfer dude’s story. ‘Surf Dog’ because of the captured joyful action.

  3. On Riboud. As I “checked” him to refresh my memory, I realized his brother was Antoine Riboud, long-time CEO of Danone. I wonder what the family sunday lunch conversation could be about…

  13. Can’t beat celebrating Christmas and New Year’s on the beach with a clambake. Your Imogen is growing fast; in another blink of an eye, it’ll be prom time for her. This is the time you spoil her rotten, lol. 😉
Hope your New Year has been a good one so far.

  14. Dude. I don’t know when you’re gonna have your show at a gallery or something but man you got this vibe going where I see your pics and they just make me feel good. All of these have feelings up in the mix and the succulent just popped out at me. Probably because I’m trying not to kill off the succulents I planted five months ago. But that was such a beautiful picture. It popped out at me, the peace, the beauty the deep breaths I take just to admire them. Plus the dog, and the seals, the beach sitter chillin with the clouds and the waves. Dude. High-five! Thanks for sharing your perspectives. I dig it!

OMG they do grow up so fast! I haven’t seen mine for too long and the changes are quite startling!
So very California one and all… takes me quite a way back to my time.
But the Christmas Tree totally cracked me up! Thanks for the literally Laugh Out Loud!

  23. Ai yi yi, she’s growing fast! That’s a beautiful photo. And that Christmas tree – wonderful! I like the alternating between people and things and nature – you always do that well. I’m envious of your trip! The succulent & surf class might be my favorites but mostly, I like living vicariously this morning… 😉

  25. Oh this is exactly what I needed, Jane! Your ocean shots of San Diego are a balm to my soul. I grew up playing on the beaches of La Jolla, PB, and Mission. I also love the OB dog park and when we visit SD in the wintertime for the holidays, we take our dogs there. We couldn’t make the drive from Washington this year (too complicated with snow, covid, and places to stay with family), so I missed all of this! I love that “Surfer’s morning” and the kids walking by Crystal Pier! Lovely and I hope your New Year started out right as well as safe! Thank you for sharing!

  26. Love this series, Jane. I could imagine in the Surfer’s Morning, that said surfer spent a lot of time looking for that coffee mug. “I know I put it down somewhere….” 🙂 Happy New Year, my friend.

  32. Amazing pictures Jane! Your photos made me think of a quote I recently read in a book,
“My life amounts to no more than one drop in a limitless ocean. Yet what is any ocean, but a multitude of drops?”
Keep sharing these amazing panoramic pictures. Thanks!
