She is such an inspiration and from such a young person too. Youth has so much to offer that often is overlooked by us older folks. I was unable to watch live but had NPR on so heard her words.
Dawn is such a hopeful time, offering the possibility of something special with each day. Our country is still mired in distrust and hypocrisy but every day we can hope for better and get a little closer.

Thank you so much, Anita. It’s fun to revisit photos from my travels, especially feeling pent up and isolated. Our trip to Patagonia was a thrill and where I shot the first at Torres Del Paine and A Door Opens at one of the incredible glaciers there. Remarkable Morning is in Australia at the rocks called the Remarkables 🙂 Happy you enjoyed this celebration!

It was a beautiful moment on a day that filled a lot of hearts with gratitude, relief, and – dare I say it? – some hope, finally. I love that youth was represented so powerfully on that day. We need more of that! Thanks for bringing the inauguration and its good feelings back, Jane – the news cycle is so short these days that it’s already beginning to feel like it happened some time ago. I’m not surprised that you had no trouble choosing positive images from your travels and from close to home – they reflect your basic nature, I think. “It’s a Beautiful Day” really appeals to me because it has a quality of bridging opposites – there are the rain and the darkness, but there is the sun and so much beauty, too. Life is like that.

Love that first photo, very striking. Amanda’s poem, she was talking about “to make a difference, you need to be a difference.” Most people, however, think to make a difference, it needs to be lofty. It doesn’t. It may be as simple as keeping the smallest of promises to someone you know or don’t know.
Stay well, stay extra safe. 🙂
