That means a lot, Andrew, thank you so much. Especially coming from your artistic eye. Appreciate you spending some time here. Sending warm wishes your way, too. 😊
Simply beautiful. I love the different views of the bridge and the moon. Like the quote about standing in front of something more interesting if you want a better picture.
Thanks so much, Peggy. It was a thrill to photograph these different lunar events. That quote always makes me smile.Jim is a wonderful Nat Geo photographer.
Wow! Gorgeous!

I’m so glad you enjoyed these, Therese. A thrill to photograph these lunar nights. Thank you!
All wonderful full moon shots, Jane. The Golden Gate offers so many vistas and you’ve done a fine job capturing so many. I especially like the shot with just the top of the bridge poking up out of the fog…Moonset and Fog.
Hi Steve, Pleased you enjoyed these. The classic bridge poking through the fog is always a thrill to photograph especially with the light that morning. Thanks so much for your response. 😊
Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Miss those views

My most pleasure💖 It’s true…exciting moments you had.
I never tire of your GGB shots in all of her various and luscious moods!
“If you want to be a better photographer, stand in front of more interesting stuff.” ~Jim Richardson
There certainly is THAT to be said but it might also need a definition of “interesting”… it is what it is! (as much as I detest that overused phrase!) 😋
Thanks so much, Gunta. Glad you enjoyed all these lunar moods. I love that simple and wry quote by Jim, a wonderful Nat Geo photographer. And yes, we all have our own vision of what is “interesting”. 🙂
Completely bowled over by these Jane. Just gorgeous. I’ve never successfully captured a moon shot.
Alison
Thanks so much, Alison! These were made with a full frame camera which helps. Otherwise, the moon looks very small. 🙂 So glad you enjoyed these.
wow! I really love the ones with the cloud over the bridge!
Thanks, Andy! San Franciscans even have a name for it- Karl the Fog. 🙂
Love the versatility of our one moon 🌝
Well said, Eco. She has many moods! Thanks so much.
Indeed she does 🌝 🌚
You lived with this view long enough to enjoy some really spectacular sights, Jane. I’m glad you could photograph them so well. The setting eclipsed moon is otherworldly and so beautiful. I love the moonset at sunrise – all those delicious colors – and the moonlight on the water, wow. Magic moments! Then the last image, well, it’s too much! There must have been a mile-wide smile on your face. What a privilege it was to live with that view!
Hi Lynn, Thank you! It was a real thrill to see a number of lunar events over my years in SF and to have an exciting vantage point certainly made them more doable to capture. Venturing out in the city in the middle of the night was not in my photographer cards. Happy you enjoyed seeing them (some again). And you’re so right, there was true happiness when the fog rolled in. 🙂
And new subjects and memories are in the works now. 🙂
Yes… someday they will come. 🙂 💙
Such a breathtaking view. Very well captured
Much appreciated, Creative Arts. Thank you so much.
Full Moon on the Bay is just magical!
Thank you, Beyond. I was so taken with how much light the full moon was emitting. Glad you enjoyed!
Terrific photos, Jane. I particularly like the Lunar Eclipse over Golden Gate shot.
Thanks, Belinda. Shooting these really had me thinking technically. The eclipse was an exciting one. Glad you enjoyed them. 🙂
Reblogged this on The Reluctant Poet.

Jane, you could make a calendar with these images. They’re mesmerizing to me.
Thank you, Janie. They do hang together nicely as a theme. Do people still use calendars? 😄
some people do, most run away, including me unless it’s a pain 😶
Wow! Every picture a delight!!

What a delight it is to view your superb images, Jane, you certainly live it up to Dorothea Lange’s quote.
How nice to read, Cornelia. Thank you so much. 🙂
Excellent photos!!! … and I love San Francisco! Also, thanks for the serendipitous moment because my current beach walk is about the moon. 🙂
That’s good karma, Frank! Glad you enjoyed these– many wonderful memories of moon events and the bridge. Thanks very much! 🙂
Plus, SF is one of my favorite places for food! 🙂 … I love North Beach. 🙂
Yes! A great eating city! And great for Asian cuisine.
I read that my favorite closed several years ago … loved Capp’s Corner
Not familiar with that one. Sadly, so many more have closed now in the crisis.
Very sad. Capp’s was in North Beach … a short block off the main street. (Columbus?) It was on a corner. Italian … old decor .. loved the food … and reasonable! Meanwhile, I can’t imagine what the restaurant scene will look like one year from today.
Decimated. Hopefully it will come back.
Beautiful shots! 📷
Thank you, Sophia. Appreciate your visit. 🙂
Wow… breathtaking photos, Jane, especially the last image.
I’m so glad you enjoyed these, Amy. Thanks very much. 🙂
Beautiful photos!
Thanks so much, Digital Wonders! 🙂
Too bad you couldn’t take the GGB when you moved south. It would have been quite imposing in your new neighborhood. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Haha, David. When we are free again, I will find new inspirations. Not much can compete with her. Thank you! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Just love your ‘picture book’ story of the Golden Gate Bridge! Each ‘chapter’ stunning! Makes a person think: I should live there! Serenity, beauty, quietude…ahhh, what we all need now…so thanks for all of that in just a few photos…just genius…as is all your photography…xoxo Barbie
Thanks so much, Barbie. San Francisco is a magical place. I’m happy to read your reaction- means a lot to me. 🙂 xox
Very interesting pictures of the SF bridge under different condition and with the full moon behind. Just fantastic!

Another beautiful photo set, Jane! ❤️
Thanks, John. Fun to look back on these amazing full moon moments. Glad you like them. 🌝
Wow, all of ’em! That bridge has been around a lot of years, but in these great photos, the scenes look like something from a very cool futuristic sci-fi movie.
Thank you, Robert. They could be a backdrop for some futuristic action. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed!
Jane, I am speechless, these are jaw dropping images 🙂
It’s simply impossible to select one image over others …
Thank you so much for sharing and have a great weekend 🙂
This makes my day, Sreejith! Thank you so much. Hope you are having a great weekend, too. 🙂

So many chances for a beautiful shot!
Thanks, Sharon. I miss that vantage point! It was worth every early morning wake up call. Glad you enjoyed these.
Awesome👍👍👍
Thanks so much, Detlef. These are wonderful photography memories.
A good three years ago I rode my motorcycle over the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately in the fog. No view of San Francisco or the Bay☹️
What a great memory, Detlef! It’s feels even more mysterious crossing when the bridge is cloaked in fog. One of my first crossings was in a convertible which was a thrill.
Fantastic! VG.Alois
Thanks, Alois 😊
