  1. What a lovely post. Trees are my passion and I am missing the palm trees of Southern California where I spent 32 years. Thank you for sharing. 🌴

  2. Thankyou for this fine tribute to Palms,Jane! You’ve always got your camera in the palm of of your hand!

  3. These are all gorgeous – and I love the humour too. And the quotations. Thanks!

  4. hi jane, great idea that you have chosen on the subject of palm trees, I particularly like them. my favorites are the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th.
    many greetings robert

  5. I, too, love palm trees, Jane, and this was an entertaining series of beautiful photos and fun titles. The two that made me chuckle were Palm Symphony (the musical staff interpretation) and the Palm Imposter (the light post imitating palms!). The photos I espec. liked were Palm Party, Palm Romance and Puddle Palms. I never realized until this post of yours how sun images can transform the palm. Wonderful quotes, too.

  6. Jane –
    This was brilliant!
First because I love oak tress and this was a celebration of them!
And the Opening quite reminds me of how I feel when I take a trip and see the first palms.
Second, the different images were nicely chosen – the detail was like an Abtsract painting and the imposter was so funny

  7. This is so adorable. Lovely photos, Jane.

  8. So many beautiful palm trees with titles that made me smile. Thanks for a bright spot in my day!

  9. These are simply marvelous! The “imposter” made me laugh out loud. Love every single one of these. Palm Symphony shows you can actually use what might be considered an annoyance for good effect. (Also created a chuckle here!) Thanks, Jane… I think we’re all needing some light laughter to cheer us up in these difficult times.

  10. You’ve seen a lot of palms. I like Palm Symphony … palms against a decidedly cloudy sky. Took me awhile to catch onto the Palm Imposter. I was looking at the palm trees, wondering which tree didn’t look like a palm. Then, I saw the imposter. 🙄🙄🙄 I can be slow some days (lol).

I hope you’re doing well. The COVID numbers are going through the roof here. It’s worse than when we were under mandatory stay at home back in the spring, and people are kind of ignoring it. Not good. You and your family, stay well and stay safe.

    • Hi David, Glad you like my subtle humor on that one–I like to make you think. 🙂 and yes, I seem to have a thing for palms. So sorry about your covid numbers…they are on the rise in many places. Let’s hope for better days ahead. Thanks, friend. 🙂

  11. Needed this escape today 🙂 Thank you! The central Europe cold and rain has come in, and summer palm have never seemed so far away. Your palms reaching shot is my favorite, they seem to be reaching out of nowhere.

    • Hi Randall, Makes me happy that you escaped with these. Thank you. Palms remind me to look up.
Are you not in the states now? I must have missed that. Stay warm and safe. 🙂

      • My timing was not the best, returned to Czech just in time for another mini-lock down 🙂 But have some hills and forests outside my door to explore and a little sunshine this weekend, so not too terrible. Take care, Jane.

        • Sounds lovely and at least it’s a “mini”. We are headed for much worse here. The one day case total here yesterday was the world’s highest daily total ever. You, too, Randall. Enjoy those forests. 🌳

  12. Sunset and Palm – My favorite 😍

  13. Glorious as usual Jane. I can look at your images again and again. Again and again. My daily treat. ♥ Thank you for letting me in!

  14. Inspiring, Jane. Your artistic eye is wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing your gift with us.

  15. Beauty, wit, humor, aesthetic interest – this has it all. ‘Palm Symphony’ – great! 🙂 And I love the imposter. The details add a lot (of course I would think so). I like the puddle palms a lot, too, and that pretty crescent moon amidst those interesting lines of wispy clouds. I will never tire of palm trees, Jane, so please keep going. 🙂

  16. Just fantastic Jane! Are you sure that Palm Detail II isn’t a painting and you have been painting all this time 🙂

  17. It calms me when I see the photos .
Thank you for the post .

  18. Palms are such exotic (to me) and elegant trees. They make me happy…perhaps because I’m thinking of warmer climates. Your photos are stunning. I particularly like the Palms Reaching.

  19. Wonderful pictures that include palm trees. I love the “Puddle Palms”!

  20. Nice. Love the silhouette. Also “palms reaching” – soaring ever upwards, they have truly mastered tree pose.

  21. Those are beautiful palm trees. I never knew they could be finer . You bring out the best from nature Jane

  22. Brought those palms to life … felt like they were long to start speaking ! Great post

  23. Last night on KLRU-Q (one of Austin’s PBS channels) we watch “The Way We Were” (hard to believe the film is now 47 years old!). At one point the Barbra Streisand character, a New Yorker who finds herself living in Hollywood but missing New York, complains that the palm trees people associate with Los Angeles came (as she did) from somewhere else.

I looked up Terri Guillemets and found at that she’s “a book addict, avid reader, and library lover” who’s been “digging up quotes since 1986” and
“online since 1998.” Her last name appears to be a nom de plume, given that guillemets is the French words for ‘quotation marks’ (which typographically in French are « ») .

  24. Amazing images, Jane. I love palm trees almost as much as pines!

  25. Great! Right in the palm of my hand 😁

  26. Lovely collection, very original ideas.
    Greetings from Belgium, Rudi

  27. Beautiful pictures, Jane – my favourite is Palm Detail 1. I envy you being surrounded by so many palms! I have traveled and worked in many hot places, and one of the most evocative sounds for me now is the rustling of dry palm leaves in the breeze: that brings back so many memories. 🙂

    • Thanks, Adrian. You probably don’t see them much in your part of the world…glad these brought back good memories of places with palms. I agree, the gentle rustling of palms is very soothing. Happy you enjoyed this one. 🙂

  28. a wonderful collection, Jane. Especially #5, #6 and #7. Well done!!

  29. Jane, I am very familiar with those views, since I live in California, Orange County, but your images are just stunning.

  30. Lovely photos, Jane. I like Palm Puddles. I live near a neighborhood in San Jose called Palm Haven. All of the streets are lined with palms and the homes are from the early 1900’s. It is designated as an historic conservation area.

  31. Beautiful collection. We don’t see so many palm trees here in Manchester!

  32. They do seem to speak of warmth, don’t they? 🙂 🙂

  33. Lovely series, Jane. I love them all! ❤

  34. Intriguing post, Jane. Well done!

  35. DUDE! As a Cali native this is my FAVORITE of your series so far. I love all the different perspectives you’ve captured! These are so many different views of palm trees all over the place. Looking up shows the great height. Sunset purple colors are so soothing and Zen vibes. Plus The reflection in the water. Those are AWESOME. Great pics. Great way to layout the beauty we got in these long slender giants. High-five lady!

  36. Wonderful pictures Jane! Palms reaching! Palm symphony made me smile. 🙂

  37. Gorgeous images, Jane. Detail 1 is stellar, and you had me rolling with “Palm Imposter.”

  38. Gorgeous images Jane 👍🏻

Love to hear what you think...
