Things I’ve Seen: Palm Trees

โ€œI suddenly realized I was in California. Warm, palmy air – air you can kiss – and palms.โ€ย

  1. Nice blog๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  2. Sunset and Palm – My favorite ๐Ÿ˜

  3. Glorious as usual Jane. I can look at your images again and again. Again and again. My daily treat. โ™ฅ Thank you for letting me in!

  4. Inspiring, Jane. Your artistic eye is wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing your gift with us.

  5. Beauty, wit, humor, aesthetic interest – this has it all. ‘Palm Symphony’ – great! ๐Ÿ™‚ And I love the imposter. The details add a lot (of course I would think so). I like the puddle palms a lot, too, and that pretty crescent moon amidst those interesting lines of wispy clouds. I will never tire of palm trees, Jane, so please keep going. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Just fantastic Jane! Are you sure that Palm Detail II isn’t a painting and you have been painting all this time ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

  8. It calms me when I see the photos .
Thank you for the post .

  9. Palms are such exotic (to me) and elegant trees. They make me happy…perhaps because I’m thinking of warmer climates. Your photos are stunning. I particularly like the Palms Reaching.

  10. Wonderful pictures that include palm trees. I love the “Puddle Palms”!

  11. Nice. Love the silhouette. Also “palms reaching” – soaring ever upwards, they have truly mastered tree pose.

  12. Those are beautiful palm trees. I never knew they could be finer . You bring out the best from nature Jane

  13. Brought those palms to life … felt like they were long to start speaking ! Great post

  14. Last night on KLRU-Q (one of Austin’s PBS channels) we watch “The Way We Were” (hard to believe the film is now 47 years old!). At one point the Barbra Streisand character, a New Yorker who finds herself living in Hollywood but missing New York, complains that the palm trees people associate with Los Angeles came (as she did) from somewhere else.

I looked up Terri Guillemets and found at https://www.quotegarden.com/site-info.html that she’s “a book addict, avid reader, and library lover” who’s been “digging up quotes since 1986” and
“online since 1998.” Her last name appears to be a nom de plume, given that guillemets is the French words for ‘quotation marks’ (which typographically in French are ยซ ยป) .

  15. Amazing images, Jane. I love palm trees almost as much as pines!

  16. Great! Right in the palm of my hand ๐Ÿ˜

  17. Lovely collection, very original ideas.
    Greetings from Belgium, Rudi

  18. Beautiful pictures, Jane – my favourite is Palm Detail 1. I envy you being surrounded by so many palms! I have traveled and worked in many hot places, and one of the most evocative sounds for me now is the rustling of dry palm leaves in the breeze: that brings back so many memories. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thanks, Adrian. You probably don’t see them much in your part of the world…glad these brought back good memories of places with palms. I agree, the gentle rustling of palms is very soothing. Happy you enjoyed this one. ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. a wonderful collection, Jane. Especially #5, #6 and #7. Well done!!

  20. Jane, I am very familiar with those views, since I live in California, Orange County, but your images are just stunning.

    • Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™re quite familiar, Cornelia. And there are different types depending on the region. Seems I like to photograph them! Thanks so much for stopping by. ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ˜Š

  21. Lovely photos, Jane. I like Palm Puddles. I live near a neighborhood in San Jose called Palm Haven. All of the streets are lined with palms and the homes are from the early 1900โ€™s. It is designated as an historic conservation area.

  22. Beautiful collection. We don’t see so many palm trees here in Manchester!

  23. Fabulous palms, Jane! ๐ŸŒดโค๐ŸŒด

  24. They do seem to speak of warmth, don’t they? ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. Lovely series, Jane. I love them all! โค

  26. Intriguing post, Jane. Well done!

  27. DUDE! As a Cali native this is my FAVORITE of your series so far. I love all the different perspectives you’ve captured! These are so many different views of palm trees all over the place. Looking up shows the great height. Sunset purple colors are so soothing and Zen vibes. Plus The reflection in the water. Those are AWESOME. Great pics. Great way to layout the beauty we got in these long slender giants. High-five lady!

  28. Wonderful pictures Jane! Palms reaching! Palm symphony made me smile. ๐Ÿ™‚

  29. Gorgeous images, Jane. Detail 1 is stellar, and you had me rolling with โ€œPalm Imposter.โ€

  30. Gorgeous images Jane ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
