“Beyond the horizon, behind the sun
At the end of the rainbow life has only begun
In the long hours of twilight ‘neath the stardust above
Beyond the horizon it is easy to love.”
~Bob Dylan
“Beyond the horizon, in the springtime or fall
Love waits forever for one and for all
Beyond the horizon across the divide
‘Round about midnight, we’ll be on the same side”
~Bob Dylan
“Beyond the horizon, at the end of the game
Every step that you take, I’m walking the same
Beyond the horizon the night winds blow
The theme of a melody from many moons ago
The bells of St. Mary, how sweetly they chime
Beyond the horizon I found you just in time”
~Bob Dylan

All wonderful Jane but that rainbow over the Golden Gate bridge is just stunning. Have a great week 💕
Thanks so much, Andrew. Glad you enjoyed these- the rainbow morning was such a gift. 🌈
Beautiful
Thanks so much, Kaikisa. 🙂
Lovely weather😁
Thanks, Aaron. 😄
Glorious. I love the rainbow shot.
Thanks, Lisa. That rainbow was an amazing SF morning gift. 🌈
Rainbows always are. I found the end of the rainbow recently. That has never happened. It was magical.
Wow! Was Kermit there? 🙂 How fun.
Ha. No gold either, but shimmering colours that moved. So wonderful.
Beautiful, Jane, especially the Twilight Stars. From Kiawah, I assume. Regarding the Sunset, San Juans, is that the San Juan Mountains in SW Colorado and the water being the headwaters of the Rio Grande? If not, still a beautiful sunset. Nice shot of the GGB.
Thanks, David. Yes, Kiawah. This sunset was in the San Juan Islands in the PNW. 😉 I’m thinking of you noodling over that photo. 😃 Glad you enjoyed these. 🌈
Didn’t think of the San Juan Islands considering I was assigned to Bremerton for a short time. 🙄🙄🙄
Thought process on the San Juan image: I thought it could be the mountains, then maybe not. Then, it seemed to be too much to be the headwaters for the Rio Grande. Decided to venture a guess. 😉
Good sleuthing, David. 🤓
Nice
Thanks so much. 😊
U re welcome
Wow!!! You hit 2 birds with one stone. Brilliant pictures (absolutely mind boggling) accompanied with a beautiful poem. Beyond the horizon, everything is achievable. Beyond the horizon, there’s no pain or sorrow. Beyond the horizon, is the life of my dreams! I’ve interpreted the horizon as my comfort zone, success always lies outside the boundaries of our comfort zone! Thanks for sharing this!💙
What a wonderful reaction, Supermode. Thank you so much. Keep your eye on the horizon. 💙
Thanks a lot!!
Magnifique l’article
Merci beaucoup, Kinapara. 🙂
Je t’en prie
Spectacular pictures…also you couldn’t have chosen better words to describe them 💟💟
Thanks so much, Gibberish. Dylan is the master. Glad you enjoyed this collection. 🙂
Beautiful skies. The space you devote to the cloud in the first … even when competing with Bryce is well-deserved! I am a fan of low horizons and especially when the sky interest merits the attention.
Hi Denise, Thanks! That was an amazing sky at Bryce. Glad we share a love of having a sliver of the land below the horizon. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts. 🌏
Love ittt
Thanks very much, Adekoyaayoola. 😃
Twilight stars😍😍😍😍😍
So glad you like it Rachana. Thanks so much. 😍
Simply magnificent, Jane. Wow.

Wow..!! Looks beautiful.. Amazing click. 😍
Thanks very much, Smrithi. So glad you enjoyed. 🙂
The world is filled with so much beauty despite the disheartening times we are experiencing. This is a wonderful collection of your photography, Jane. So much loveliness out there. 🙂
Hi Steve, Thanks so much for viewing these. That beauty is what keeps us going, isn’t it? Here’s to brighter days ahead. Hope all is well with you. 🙂
What a beautiful picture!
Thanks so much, Mac. Much appreciated. 😊
What an uplifting series of images and text, Jane – it’s a real antidote for these times. You’re knocking us out with these beauties! The first image just about took my breath away, then the second is a startlingly beautiful contrast to the first. The tidal reflections at Kiawah, and the rippled sand surface with all that angled light on it – so refreshing. The Big Sur fog has a lovely mystery about it, all those layers, separate but melded, and so subtle yet so full of color. There’s a lot of depth there. And what a fitting end, the Golden Gate and the rainbow, everything lined up and perfect and speaking to us of brighter days ahead. (But first, we have a few months of truly tedious times, I fear!).
Thanks very much, Lynn. Happy you found this uplifting and I appreciate your thoughts on the images. Yes, hopefully we will see the rainbow emerge soon. 🌈
Wow Jane, these are all so gorgeous. And the one with the rainbow just stunning. What a moment!
Alison
Thank you so much, Alison. Some great memories in this collection especially the rainbow gracing SF. 🌈
as always a very skillful use of composition, colours and other elements. fantastic!
Thanks so much, Andy. Pleased you enjoyed this collection. 😊
That rainbow!!!! ❤ ❤
Thanks, M.B. That was a memorable morning! 🌈
These photos are spectacular. Thinking about watching the horizon – I have been told to do that when seasick on boats (I am a bad sailor). Indeed, these days when there is much to feel queasy about, watching the horizon is a good strategy to adopt even when on firm ground. Especially when there might be rainbows out there …
Well said, Carol. My sentiments exactly. 😉
Thanks very much for viewing. Enjoying clearer skies here. Hope you are doing well. 😊
Good to know you are experiencing clearer skies. We are doing well thanks.
what a great selection!
Thanks so much, Herbert. 😊
Wow !! Great panoramas and wonderfull colors but the black & white pictures are also very beautiful. Have a nice evening and many greetings from Belgium.
Thanks so much, Picpholio. Happy you enjoyed these landscapes. 😊
Delightful series. (Suzanne)
Thanks very much, Suzanne. Happy you enjoyed this collection. 🙂
Wonderful pictures and some of them are amazing to see. I love the “Tidal Reflection, Kiawah Island” in particular. Its composition and sense of vast open space just immediately sink in…
Thanks so much, YC. Tidal Reflections brings back good memories of living on a barrier island. Wonderful vast landscapes in this very flat part of the country. 🙂
What a stunning post. Pairing it with the Dylan lyrics is perfect. You have an amazing eye.
Thank you, Janie. Happy you enjoyed the images and nod to Dylan. Miss you. 😍
You can’t go wrong with Bob Dylan, Jane. As Harrie says, fine images – I particularly like Fog, Big Sur. This post reminds me of travels long ago, and of the magic of lights twinkling on the far horizon in the dusk. Thank you for the memory! 🙂
Hi Adrian, Agree, brings back carefree days. Hopefully, those days will be back soon. Glad you enjoyed this one- thanks so much. 🙂
Nice song about love! 🙂 Fine set to go with the words. See you, Jane!
Thanks, Harrie. It is indeed. Glad you enjoyed the pairing. 🙂
A beautiful collection. It’s so important to see broad horizons at this time.
Hi Mike, Indeed, we need to look ahead! Thanks so much. 🙂
I add my voice to the chorus of admiration
Thank you, Paula. Your thoughts are much appreciated, as always. ☺️
This view though😍😍😍
Thanks so much, Mushaf. 😍
Stunning photo’s. And so wonderful to be able to see a horizon…
Thank you so much, Noortje. Glad you enjoyed these horizons. 🙂
All pictures are just beautiful 😍
Thanks very much, Harpiy. Happy you enjoyed. 😍
Jane, something touched m deeply about your most beautiful post, your images are just significant and Bob Dylan’s lyrics spoke to my heart. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent.
I’m so glad you enjoyed this pairing, Cornelia. Keep your eyes on the horizon, friend. Thank you. 🙂
Thank you Jane, I try to.
Your work always exceeds our expectations, Jane! Bravo and bravo!!!
Thank you, as always, for your kind and enthusiastic response, Fabio. Much appreciated! 🙂
I get the impression that many people don’t make the connection between horizon and horizontal.
Not familiar with the lyrics, I checked and found that “Beyond the Horizon” appeared on the 2006 album Modern Times.
That would be a surprising disconnect, if true, Steve. The root is quite obvious. Yup, the Dylan album is terrific- take a listen. 🙂
oh wow! Amazing shots.
Thanks so much, Poshan. 🙂
The great outdoors brought to us masterfully by Jane Lurie!
Thanks very much, Dries. A great compliment coming from someone who is always outdoors! 🤗
A wonderful poem….
And some breathtaking pictures!!
A perfect combination…👍👍
Thank you so much, Tithi. Happy you enjoyed the pairing. 🙂 🙂
Pretty shots, Jane. Are some of them making you homesick?😘
Thanks, Sharon. Oh yes, they sure did. Many happy memories. 🙂
As previous commentatirs has already pointed out, really nice photos 🙂
Thanks very much, Jesper. I’m glad you enjoyed these and I appreciate you following my work. 🙂
Wow, wow, wow! I’m speechless, Jane. One incredible image after another, how do you do it? Such a gift you have! ❤
'Modern Times,' his best release, IMO. 😉
Thank you, Eliza…wow, wow…so happy you enjoyed these! Some great tunes on that album. (I still say album) 😃
I started typing ‘album,’ too, but changed it. 😉
Great minds think alike. 🙂
These are stunning, Jane! ❤
Thanks so much, Donna. ❤️
That final shot of the bridge with rainbow literally made me GASP!!! Gorgeous.
Thank you, Gunta! I miss the old gal. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed this one.
