Still Holding On

“When you’re with me, baby the skies’ll be blue

For all my life

Me and you and you and me

No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be

The only one for me is you, and you for me

So happy together”

  1. Wonderful photos!
Have a great day, keep doing this beautiful work! πŸ™‚

  2. I love shriveled sunflowers. My wife thinks I’m silly. She says only silly photographers like documenting old shriveled up flowers

  3. Love the post. So true and pictures are beautiful.

  4. You can never have too many flowers or pictures of water. These are lovely.

  5. I’ve always appreciate flowers that have passed their prime and your before and afters are so well done, Jane. I also enjoy your pairing with quotes, especially Fred Rogers’. πŸ™‚

  6. Wow, Jane, this is super. A great concept, beautifully realized. The first pair is great and the sentiments in each image and quote are recognizable. Back and forth we go!

    • Hi Lynn, Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the analogy. I realized that my fascination for flowers past their prime had new meaning for our times. Indeed, the ups and downs! πŸ™‚ 😦

  7. Really nice pics jane, i really want to learn something about how to take good pics.

Really appreciated your work and passion.

See my blogs too on THE INDIA BLOGS

  8. What a wonderful collection Jane. I love the way you’ve tied together all these disparate photos. My favourite photo is actually Sad Together – there’s something about the beauty in decay that appeals to me. And now I have that turtles song as a earworm lol πŸ™‚

  9. Lovely shot ❀️❀️❀️

  10. Your rose images are so vivid that I can smell them, Fred Rogers is my hero. And the quote from boyhood perfectly captures my current thinking, I am managing through my current ‘big moment’ by remembering all of the glorious little ones that preceded it and hopeful for the many that will follow.

  11. Interesting reflections on the theme of impermanence.

  12. interesting work before / after and very nice pictures

  13. Why am I identifying with still holding on. Please No! This is a wonderful post and a subject many want to either deny or rush to correct. Just life’s journey as it evolves with in all of us!

    • Ha, Kathy. So true. Glad you like this theme. We’re all experiencing an array of emotions these days. Thanks so much for visit and sharing your thoughts. Hope you are faring well. πŸ™‚

  14. Actually… wish I could have hit the “LOVE” button. Every image is delicious and the words to go with the moods brought a number of smiles. Honestly, I most of all related to “prickly”. πŸ˜€ Perhaps it’s the weather or the itch to roam across the country?

Hope you’re enjoying the change of scenery. πŸ™‚

    • Hi Gunta, Your response makes me smile. I think we all feel the range of emotions these days. Hopefully the prickly ones are momentary. πŸ™‚ We are enjoying new scenery in the sameness of our day to day. Thanks very much and hope you are doing well.

      • Seems as though I can relieve the ‘itch’ by getting immersed in images from previous travels. I’m sure you’ve been doing a bit of the same when posting your marvelous trips. To places I can’t imagine seeing in real life… It’s been a real treat. So, seriously- the prickly is more fleeting for me. The partner, on the other hand, is doing a bit more struggling. Are we likely to get any glimpses of the grandbabies?

  15. Such a nice selection, Jane. I thought the Fred Rogers quote was apropos. Everything begins and ends with the golden rule – be kind, be generous.

Hope your move-in is going well. It took us awhile to get everything out of the boxes, then another couple of months moving the furniture around, and another couple of months of buying something for that finishing touch. The daughters and I are doing okay in NY, but we’d like to have our two hours back. One more week, then it’s home.

    Stay well, stay safe. πŸ™‚

  16. Moods indeed, Jane….some great images

  17. A lovely collection of moods, Janes. I especially like how you captured the range of sunflowers. β€œLet’s Fly Away” is sure on point for the times we find ourselves in.

  18. Super nice, Jane! Love the before and after flower shots, reminding us that life and death are all in the same circular process. Roll on!

  19. Wonderful contrasts in time. And let’s hear it for Flo and Eddie and especially for Fred.

  20. The images are a reminder that life is an accusations of small things which enrich larger fabric. Great ox.

    • Thanks so much, Bruce. Yes, I think that is very true. (thanks to spellcheck– Assume you meant accumulations… of course life is full of accusations, too. πŸ™‚ ) Happy you enjoyed this one.

  21. So many beautiful flowers, Jane! I love that old Turtles song too. πŸ₯°

  22. Kindness is always possible and your flora is so fine…sending you joy Jane have a beautiful day ~ smiles Hedy 🌻

  23. Wonderful images Jane πŸ™‚ I have to admit I’ll probably be hearing that tune So Happy Together in my head all day πŸ˜€

  24. Ying & yang 🌱 of life ! Eco

  25. Juxtaposition – one bright young and beautiful and the next the aging old and fading. A fact of life!!

  26. My sentiments exactly…to be kind is essential

  27. Transient beauty. Love the coming up rose! πŸ™‚

  28. Feeling prickly is me, most days, Jane πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  29. Lovely pictures, Jane, and a good idea having fresh and bedraggled flowers next to each other – and I absolutely love the silhouetted V of birds in the last one. πŸ™‚

  30. Love those quotes. I remember listening to that Turtles song when I was young. My elder brother played it all the time. (I shall be singing it to myself all day now! 😊) And when I read the first quote I wondered whether you could turn it around and say the big moments were life?

  31. I love the being kind mantra – spread some kindness every day.

  32. Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!!!! ❀️❀️❀️❀️

  33. I really like this post. The pictures are fantastic and it felt like i was on a journey waiting to see what the contrasting image was going to be πŸ™‚

  34. What a nice grouping of flowers and quotes. I loves Opuntias. The landscapes are great too!

  35. That first picture of a pristine sunflower grabbed me.

  36. Be kind…. Thats right….

  37. Perfect match-up and gorgeous photos. Linda πŸ™‚

  38. Oh this was amazing! What a visual journey and those quotes were perfect πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ’œ

Love to hear what you think...
