So that’s what you were up to…I just had this feeling that something was keeping you occupied – you were still blogging but I sensed something different that I couldn’t put my finger on. When I think about moving amidst the virus and then maintaining your blog on top of that, I’m impressed! But not surprised. I really love the palm image with those rolling hills in the background and that gorgeous splash of color. I think you’ll find plenty to occupy your eyes, so I’m looking forward to seeing your posts evolve. I know you’ve been in LA many times but it will be different, living there. Best of luck with all the odds and ends you must be dealing with, and congratulations. 🙂
Hi Lynn, Aren’t you intuitive! Thanks for your concern and kind words. Moving is complicated enough, but you’re right, in a pandemic it adds a whole other level of anxiety. We are fine and very happy to be close to family. With so many balls in the air, something ends up giving. I am looking forward to new photographic subjects- as you discovered when you visited LA. Appreciate you checking in and I’m glad you enjoyed the sunsets. 🙂
I’m surprised to see you have moved away from SF, Jane, but glad you are enjoying new horizons. Both of these photos are gorgeous. Best wishes in your new home.
Hi Jet, Thank you! Yes, we finally made the move south to be closer to family and our granddaughters. Very hard to say goodbye to the Bay Area but all for good reasons. Hope you and Athena are doing well in these stressful times. Stay safe and healthy and let’s keep in touch via our blogs. 🙂 Take care.
That’s an amazing sky you have captured. And those clouds are like small paintings, each and everyone. I hope you are all well in these extraordinary times, Jane.
Thank you so much, Otto. A wonderful welcoming sunset in our new hometown. It is amazing how clear the skies are– one silver lining in these distressing times. Great to hear from you and hope you and yours are doing well, too.
Hi Hannah, Yes, we have to be closer to family. I’ve been to Alhambra many times. Thanks for checking in- I’m excited about this new chapter in our lives. 😊
Hey Jane, I think you’ll like the new adventure. When we moved to North Ranch, it was a big gamble on our part. It still is, but we have loved every minute. It is not so much for us ‘rents, but more for our daughters. They’ll have the escape when they become MDs, to rest and relax from medicine. Or, if they decide to pursue the equestrian way of life as full-time professionals, they would have that all-important home base. Also, congratulations on being able to pull off the deal in these days. Mortgage lenders have been very reluctant to transact any kind of business, and still are.
About missing the Bay Area, you’ll have those days until your new place truly becomes home. We’ve kept our house in the old neighborhood as a rental. Megan, who’s renting it, loves the place. She’s an equestrian we’ve known for awhile. When we get back to SoCal for a horse show, at least we’ll have a place to crash, lol. I don’t know if you’ll willing to put up with us for a more than a week. Regarding the important matter, have you chosen “The Window”?
Hi David, Thanks so much for sharing your experience and for your encouraging words. Your daughters sound like wonderful, accomplished people- you must be so proud. Change can be quite energizing and exciting and you’re right, you live into it as time goes on. We feel so good being near family- reassuring and great fun – even in these limiting and fraught times. Yes, I have “the window”, but look forward to finding new avenues for creative photography. LA is a different world… Take care and happy shooting! 😃
Congrats, Jane! Funny, you’re moving south, I’m moving north to Washington State in a few months! I grew up in San Diego and have enjoyed visits to Pasadena in the past!
Thanks, Terri! How wonderful that you’re moving to WA. It’s so pretty up there. I’m glad you’ve been here– we are enjoying the city (the little that we can) so far. Mostly, it’s great to be near family. Good luck with your new chapter!
Love TS Eliot. Perhaps our world only ends, not with a bang, but a fiery sunset. I’d go for that rather than a whimper. Is this a tease suggesting you’ve moved south? Hard to imagine leaving the Bay Area with it’s Golden Gate behind. Or is it just a great bit of mind travel? ❤
Thanks, Gunta. You’re correct, we said goodbye to the old gal and moved south. A sad departure but all for very happy reasons to be closer to our kids and grandkids. 🙂
Happy reasons indeed! Oddly enough we actually entertained the thought of moving closer to grandkids and civilization just before this pandemic hit, but it quickly became apparent that we needed to be here until we come out on the other side of the all the current craziness out there. Lucky you to be able to be closer to them grand babies. They grow up way too fast.
Judging from your brief line, as well as Tina’s comment, I guess you are moving south (at least partly) to be near family?! Very exciting. I ponder such a move often myself but there are too many kids in too many time zones! 🙂 Best wishes for a safe, happy move!
Here’s to a wonderful next-phase Jane. Wishing you and yours only the best in your new world. I know two little girls who are going to love it! Beautiful captures as always
Wonderful finish to a day. Just lovely!
