I Left My Heart In San Francisco
The loveliness of Paris seems somehow sadly gray
The glory that was Rome is of another day
I’ve been terribly alone and forgotten in Manhattan
I’m going home to my city by the Bay
I left my heart in San Francisco
High on a hill, it calls to me
To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars
The morning fog may chill the air, I don’t care
My love waits there in San Francisco
Above the blue and windy sea
When I come home to you, San Francisco
Your golden sun will shine for me

Thank you, Adrian. Tony Bennett asked the city to sing it with him this past Saturday. I’m happy you found this uplifting. 💜

It was nice to post those lyrics…and I can see Orion over on the left side of the first photo – it’s beautiful (I mean it all is). I’ve always loved Venus with a crescent moon – I used to see that over the Hudson sometimes. You have a front-row seat to beautiful views and luscious colors, Jane. 🙂

Hi Lynn, Thank you so much. I’m happy you noticed Orion – the skies have been so clear – I must shoot more night shots. You may have read, Tony Bennett asked the city to sing it at noon this past Saturday. 💜

No, I didn’t know that – what a heart-warming, no, heart-bursting time that must have been. This pandemic is birthing such interesting, creative, spirited repsonses. 🙂

Good for you for crediting the songwriters. So many Internet sites credit only the singers of songs.

Hi Steve, Seems like something that would be obvious, especially when it’s the lyrics. Some people may think Tony Bennett wrote it, I suppose? Hope you enjoyed the images.

Absolutely gorgeous, Jane.
Hope you’re doing well, staying well. Today is the last day of mandatory stay-at-home, with a slow restart beginning tomorrow despite a strong uptick in new cases and loss of life over the past few days. Also, too many question marks on who’s allowed to reopen. Restaurants, bars remain closed until May 31.

Thank you, David. Please be safe regardless of the openings– I am sure you will. It’s really hard to imagine reentering into the world. It definitely won’t be in the same way. It’s all a very sad and stressful situation. Take care, friend.

Beautiful shots, Jane. It always amazes me when we can see the ‘dark side’ of the moon in reflected earth glow.
Hope you are doing well.
