“Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there’s always tomorrow”
~Bill Withers
“Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long
‘Til I’m gonna need
Somebody to lean on”
“Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won’t let show
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you’ll understand
We all need somebody to lean on”
“Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long
‘Til I’m gonna need
Somebody to lean on.”
RIP Bill Withers

You know, I’m a country girl, but if I had to live in a city, San Francisco would be my choice. Your photos are wonderful. I really enjoy the layers you capture so magically. I think the layers of the city is one of the most amazing things, and they usually shines through one way or another with your photos. Happy Easter!

Thank you so much, Maria. The hills of SF add so much depth to photos. I hope you had a wonderful Easter and that you and your daughter stay safe and healthy. 💙

Hello
I really like the first for the poetic side that blue gives to your image in an absolutely sublime fade compared to the city very clear and sharp
Then the last one this superb carpet of pretty colorful flowers
I hope everything is going well in the face of this health crisis that we are experiencing all over the world, pay attention to you

Thanks very much for your kind reaction, Yoshimi. We are faring pretty well. San Francisco started early so we’ve been isolating for 5weeks now. I hope you stay safe and healthy. Take care.

These are all nice shots, but the editing stands out too. I was just listening to a Bill Withers CD a few days before he passed. Too bad he had such a fuss with the record companies, it would have been nice to have more of his work.

Thanks very much, Dave. I need to read more about Withers’ relationship with his record companies. It is sad that he didn’t record more. I, too, revisited some of his songs and they brought me back. Hope you are doing well. Be safe and stay healthy. 🙂

Wonderful images. I love the first … the way that the top is all blue and the bottom very colorful is really special. Poppies are an alluring favorite … the colors here really pop against the wysteria (I think).

HI Denise, Thanks! That blue was amazing early one morning last week. The fog intensified the colors and light. So glad I was awake! 🙂 I’m happy that spring has sprung around the city.. welcome bright spots on our isolation walks. Appreciate you stopping by– hope you have safe and healthy days. 💙

You’re outdoing yourself, Jane. “Morning Blues” followed by those cherry blossoms could have been enough, but that solitary walker surrounded by so much beauty is very poignant. “Lean on Me” was a favorite back in the day, and remains so. Withers was a master – the songs of his that I remember are as relaxed and comfortable as a pair of slippers. (Wisteria and poppies, wow, what a treat!). Take care. 🙂

Hi Lynn, I love your image of Wither’s songs…I revisited some of the classics this week and they were so relaxing and brought back memories of the 70s. Glad you enjoyed my wanderings – we lucked out with some fine weather mixed with the much needed rainy days which have brought out the blooms. Hang in there, friend. 🙂

I remember hearing there was rain on the CA coast – that’s great. We had lightly rainy days for a rather long time. The moss and everything else loved it. Now we’re heading into a dry spell with more sun and warmer temps, which will be pleasant, but I already find myself worrying if, after a few weeks, everything will be terribly dry. That’s the seesaw we live on, on the West coast. 🙂 Take care, Jane!

I was happy it rained heavily all weekend. It kept people in and we are thankful for the rain. You’re right during this crisis, all the usual worries seem to get lost in the shuffle! Take care, too, Lynn. 🙂
