HI Andy, I bet that’s not really true. If it’s any solace, I take hundreds of photos in SF and only a small percentage see the light of day. π Thank you for stopping by!
Such a powerful image, Jane! It really ought to be on the cover of an inspiring biography of someone with a great love for the Sea, Surfing or San Francisco
The bridge alone would have been a stellar image but the surfer adds the human element giving it scale although we already know the bridge is large. π To someone with no knowledge of surfing that doesn’t seem like a very inviting place to do so.
Hi Steve, I’m always happy when I catch a human on the landscape for those reasons. This is a popular surfing spot – sometimes the winter waves are enormous and it’s harrowing watching them speed by near the rocks. Thanks very much!

The black and white makes it look cold – or perhaps it is the wetsuit.

Hi Lisa, It’s not warm, that’s for sure! It’s a pretty harsh and dramatic spot, especially in the winter. And spectacular, of course! π

Wonderful capture and just having a man carrying a surf board are lively added to the picture..

Great leading line, Jane. A statement to what the ‘humble’ human has created in his world.
