  1. This is a really lovely photo. I’ve spent a lot of time out in that region, and it always has a beautiful surprise around the next bend!

  2. What a gorgeous monochrome, Laurie!

  3. Enchanting – or should that be enchanted?

  4. WOW just gorgeous….feels so charming like the entrance into an old movie to a place back in time when life was much simpler…peaceful!!

  5. Amazing work. I like the composition very much with with big trees on both sides.

  6. the branching of these trees is sublime and gives a side a little dark or strange to your image, as if one came out of a normal world to enter a fantasy world or … inversely, with this path

    • Hi Yoshimi, A few comments have been on this theme and I can definitely see that perspective now. This can go from peaceful to foreboding…I’m happy it’s sparking the imagination. Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts. πŸ™‚

  7. Very nice moment indeed! Those squiggly branches – I love them. Everything is beautifully lined up and framed here, yes, it certainly is a peaceful image.

I’m passionate about Photography, above all black & white photo.

  9. Beautifully tranquil, Jane, and the tree left of the track in particular appears to be flexing/waggling its fingers! A πŸ™‚

  10. It almost looks like a painting and a great inspiration for a spooky story.

  11. Reminds me of an image from The Wizard of Oz…meant to be a compliment.

  12. Beautiful! My favourite medium is B&W, which is what we always called this back in the film days.

  13. Love That Dreamy Frame and Look πŸ‘

  14. A great photographic works! It is definitely peaceful but I think this is just me. I felt too peaceful (a little bit scary) πŸ™‚

    • Hi YC, Thank you very much. There is a sense of aloneness in this image that can make you feel vulnerable, I think. The most satisfying thing for me is that it evokes emotions in you. Much appreciated! πŸ™‚

  15. What a photograph! Enticing, but with a slight sense of the sinister…
    Thanks for this one!

  16. Those trees! Wish I had them in my recent barn shot. Wonderful country road image and not the first thing that comes to mind when I read “Napa”. πŸ™‚

  17. You found the perfect spot leading you nicely on and on through the expert framing.

  18. Right there with Eliza, Jane! Love this! There is so much to look at in this image. It’s tantalizing and fascinating! Gorgeous composition! Those crooked tree limbs beckon the traveler and those far-off rolling hills just have the feet yearning to to see what’s next. Well done!!

  19. Love! Those trees are magnificent and frame the road beautifully. Lovely shot, Jane!

  20. That’s lovely. I do like the structure of winter trees.

  21. Did I ever mention that I love your monochrome work? Just in case I didn’t, I love your monochrome work.

  22. Beautiful, Laurie! Nice work!

  23. Makes me want to walk down that road.
