It is scary to try to follow what is happening on the news. We don’t get much here, and I wonder how much they are sensationalizing it. “HOLLYWOOD ON FIRE” Doesn’t help anyone understand what is happening. At first I thought this was a result of 50 years of fire suppression, but do I understand that it is just as often towns on fire?
Your images are heartbreakingly beautiful. Like others, Blinded is my favorite.
I cannot express how sorry I am that this is happening.

Hi Melissa, Thank you. A frightening reminder of what we face with the warming climate.
The devastating effects of long term drought combined with the force of the Santa Ana winds create perilous situations for people in both the countryside and in cities. I was in LA last year when the fires were a mere couple of miles from us in the city. Scary times.

Firstly, I’m covered in goosebumps and have tears in my eyes. You’ve moved my heart this morning, Jane. I do all I can do to encourage others to become aware of the crisis our world is experiencing and so many times, my encouragement, my example, fall on deaf ears and blind eyes. LOVE the color scheme in this post …. between the reds in the sky and the colors …. extremely well coordinated. Thank you for continuing the message that says, folks, we are in trouble and it is up to US to do something about it. Every little thing counts too!! Bless you!

I’ve been hearing so loudly (my guidance) to document with my camera the changes as I witness them. I’ve also been told time and time again to show Beauty and encourage others to seek Beauty as well. The more of us who not only actively do something to help Gaia to heal, and who show through our talents a world that is founded on love, the stronger the light becomes that is the glue for permanent change in the Whole. Bless you for walking this Path!

Striking photographs, but the immediate and longer term situation is so alarming. I try to be hopeful and think we can right the ship, but in truth we’re destroying what sustains all life at a rate that’s beyond recovery. Future generations (if there are any) will look back in utter disbelief that we didn’t meet our moral obligation…

Hi Brian, We haven’t been as affected by poor air quality in the city this year, unlike our poor neighbors to the north and folks in LA. It seem that our lousy politics have gotten in the way of sensible responses to scientific fact. Thank very much for viewing- the effects of the haze can be dazzling.

Some of the most wonderful sunset images are made as a result of wildfires. It’s a sad relationship. Your shots are all beautiful examples of that unfortunate phenomenon. All the quotes are so appropriate too. One would think the human race, supposedly the smartest and most highly developed of all creatures upon this planet, would have learned to live more harmoniously with the Earth’s systems. Sometimes I think the question about our demise will be whether we go out with a whimper or a bang. 😦
Lovely images all though. 🙂
