I am captivated by wave action and patterns. I’m so glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your visit. 😊 Reply ↓ Cherryl July 13, 2019 • 10:11 am You’re welcome – I love the ocean too, it’s truly mesmerising 😊🌊 Reply ↓ Marsi June 11, 2019 • 6:47 am This post makes my heart happy. I’ve only spent one day at Point Reyes, but it is one of my favorite days ever. I’d dreamed of seeing that iconic lighthouse for years, however we arrived to find it closed during our visit. Disappointment turned into delight when we instead took a 6-mile hike through the Tule Elk refuge during mating season and were treated to incredible wildlife sightings that included at least 40 elk (lots of bugling from the bulls), not-so-shy coyotes, a sea lion on the beach, and of course birds. On CBS Sunday morning two days ago, their “moment of nature” subject was Point Reyes. I like to think some of those calves they showed were being cooked up during our visit last fall 😉 Reply ↓ Jane Lurie June 11, 2019 • 3:18 pm Hi Marsi- I’m so happy that you had such a wonderful time in Pt. Reyes. (sorry about the lighthouse) It’s a magical place as you have beautifully described. The beaches are wild and the landscapes fabulous. I have my CBS Sunday mornings saved — a favorite part of the show– can’t wait to see! Thanks so much for your great comments. Reply ↓ belindagroverphotography June 3, 2019 • 11:44 am I do love the feeling of wide open space in the first photo with the path leading our eye outwards. A wonderful place to wander in and photograph. Reply ↓ Jane Lurie June 3, 2019 • 1:43 pm Thanks very much, Belinda. It’s fun to have these uninhabited open spaces so close to SF. Glad you enjoyed. Reply ↓ Susan Gutterman June 2, 2019 • 9:07 pm So many wonderful photos, Jane. I love the thistles and the calves. Reply ↓ Jane Lurie June 3, 2019 • 9:45 am Thank you, Susan. This was a wonderful day at Chimney Rock- have you been? The cows were particularly amusing this day…I don’t usually photograph them much and I just love the thistles. Glad you enjoyed these. 🙂 Reply ↓ Susan Gutterman June 3, 2019 • 9:50 am Hi Jane, I have not been to Chimney Rock, but our son was married at Chimney Rock Winery twenty four years ago today (yikes!). I’m thinking it was named after this place. Reply ↓ David June 1, 2019 • 9:20 am Big waves! Reply ↓ Jane Lurie June 1, 2019 • 9:49 am Huge! And a wind that’ll knock your socks off. 😳🌊 Reply ↓ bluebrightly May 31, 2019 • 9:02 am Yu’re having too much fun with the titles again, Jane. 😉 “Bath Time” is a stand-out for me, and I love that pelican over the waves, too. Reply ↓ Jane Lurie May 31, 2019 • 3:51 pm Hi Lynn, Thank you! Some captions are just too fun to resist. Glad you enjoyed this series- the cows really charmed me this trip but the ocean and cliffs are always calling. Your thoughts are much appreciated, as always. 🙂 Reply ↓ bluebrightly June 1, 2019 • 7:33 am I love cows, sometimes they call too. 😉 but yes if course the clouds and ocean are compelling! Have a good weekend. Reply ↓ Steve Gingold May 28, 2019 • 4:50 pm Love those cows. Is #4 your nod to Garrison Keillor? I really enjoyed the opening shot. Great sense of place. Reply ↓ Jane Lurie May 29, 2019 • 8:45 am Thanks so much, Steve. I’m glad that opening shot grabbed you. For me it conveys the feel of walking through those grasses to the vista point. And #4 certainly could be a nod to Garrison but he wasn’t in my thoughts, really. 😉 Appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I looked it up on a map and it looks like it’s near Point Reyes- that’s on my bucket list! So beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Jane! Reply ↓ Jane Lurie May 27, 2019 • 8:23 am Hi Mackenzie, Yes! Dramatic cliffs not as high as Big Sur but a similar feel. Chimney Rock is in Point Reyes and is a popular and easy hike to the point – a big whale watching and wildflower spot. Glad these sparked your curiosity- thank you! Reply ↓ aakanewicloudcom May 27, 2019 • 5:14 am what a peaceful place…just love how u captured it’s bliss!! Thanks very much. 🙂 Reply ↓ plaidcamper May 26, 2019 • 7:33 pm I enjoyed this varied collection! Wave Layers is a lovely photograph – I’ve tried and tried to capture surf layers but don’t have the eye/skill/technical ability. And No. 451 is such a sweet picture. Thanks, Jane! Reply ↓ Jane Lurie May 26, 2019 • 10:47 pm Thanks very much, Adam. I am rather obsessed with waves lately. The wind and surf were wild! I shot this with my 90mm prime (135mm with crop sensor) so it condensed the landscape into a more layered or flattened effect. And I shoot on continuous mode to catch a whole series which is cool to look at in sequence. And that new little calf was certainly a bright spot in the day. Glad you enjoyed these! Reply ↓ twobrownfeet May 26, 2019 • 6:08 pm I love the sea! Thanks for taking me there! xo Reply ↓ Jane Lurie May 26, 2019 • 7:17 pm Thank you, Cheryl! A great spot to clear the mind and embrace the sea. Glad you enjoyed these and I hope you and Basil are doing well. xo Reply ↓ Steve Schwartzman May 26, 2019 • 5:48 pm Couldn’t help noticing how you’re playing with words in the caption of the fourth photo. Reply ↓ Jane Lurie May 26, 2019 • 7:14 pm I’m glad you noticed, Steve, that’s the idea. 😁 As you probably know, I enjoy a good pun or funny twist in captions. Thanks. Reply ↓ popsiclesociety May 26, 2019 • 4:18 pm Wow! What a beautiful place! Thank you for sharing! 😊 Reply ↓ Jane Lurie May 26, 2019 • 7:13 pm Thanks so much, Ribana.
