  1. These photos are great, and I love San Francisco! 💙

  2. most impressive bay
    area imagery 🙂

  3. Lovely set. It is hard to pick a favorite….but the moonlight shot is it,!!

  4. Reading those words by Neil Young reminded me of the song “Dancing in the Moonlight” which I believe was originally done by a group called King Harvest, but it was covered more recently by a group called Toploader. It’s quite a catchy tune and it’s been stuck in my head ever since I read this post a few days ago now, I meant to comment at the time but I was busy and I didn’t get around to it. here’s a link to the (not so good) Youtube video, but it’s a nice song with good lyrics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yBnIUX0QAE

  5. Inspiring photos. Very well done!

  6. Moonset at Sunrise and Moonlit Bay are such thoughtful evocations of all that love you and so many others have for that particular place. Wonderful. I love “Rock” too, for the crisp tones and vividness. I hope you’re enjoying the week, Jane. (Aren’t we glad we’re on the left coast today?)

    • HI Lynn, This is a great time of year for weather, waves and moon shots. Pleased you like the bridge photos- she’s quite a poser. 🙂 I can’t imagine experiencing the current extreme cold in the midwest right now…very happy to be west! Thank you for viewing my latest and hope you are doing well.

  7. Fishing the surf, with those kind of waves, better to wait for a calmer surf. The favorite in this series is “Moonlit Bay”. That is one gorgeous shot.

    • Hi David, It makes me wonder if people are aware how powerful and sneaky waves can be. Pleased you like Moonlit Bay. It was so beautiful as the moon set and with the contrasts, I pictured it in black and white. Thanks very much!

  8. Absolute perfection in each and every image, Jane. Just wow! Beautifully composed and edited. Brava! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  9. Rock is a real classic with a bit of action. Well done.

  10. PS. Now I have an earworm😡😡

  11. Beautifully done Jane. Especially liked your first and last. Just can’t beat Mother Nature when she’s showing off!

  13. Very interesting content! It makes me want to book the first plane possible and fly to California!

  14. I like the “Rock” shot and the “too close for comfort” as top takeaways – but maybe I am in an action kind of mood. Such nice images, Jane – got a nice dose of West Coast

  15. Waves and water, some of my favourite things.

  16. I love your bridge, over and over again. Never tired of it 🙂

  17. What a magnificent album of truly moving images, Jane!

  18. Wonderful pictures, Jane.
I really like how you captured the force of the sea.

  19. ” We know where the music is playing”, yes indeed we know, your images are all a dance of inspiration , thank you Jane for sharing your muse of images

  20. Beautiful and wild surf in this series, Jane – is the surf rougher in winter, in general? The shot of the moon over the bay is breathtaking!

  21. I love that moonlight B&W photo of the Bay and the GGB.
    Ω

    Michael

    • Hi Michael, How nice to hear from you and what a great compliment that I have a recognizable style. That means a lot- thank you very much. I hope you are doing well and that you are still creating your beautiful images.

  25. You captured the power of the ocean so well, Jane. Moonlit Bay is more my speed.

  26. The images work in every way, perfect.

  27. What an overwhelming Ocean! I love the sea – it’s so powerful!

  28. great pictures about the power of waves … like them .. Robert

  29. The moonset is spectacular. I can never get enough of the Golden Gate Bridge.

  30. In the last picture you did a good job capturing the breaking wave at the decisive moment.

  31. The intensity of the waves is brought to life so vividly through the black and white photography. These are quite mesmerising.

  32. I suspect you might guess how much I love these scenes. For so many reasons they speak to my heart! Simply lovely captures, as always.

  33. Oh Jane, you have done the subject proud, proud as only you can.

  34. Great moon shots, but I really like the way you have captured the power of those waves.

  35. I am in love with “Moonlit Bay,” it makes me think in the setting of a movie that Frank Sinatra would star. As a lover of landscapes with the moon (a lunatic? xP) I loved much this series. Thank you, Jane ^_^

  36. All the glory of nature, and you’ve got me singing along, Jane… with the moon, and the stars and the sun 🙂 🙂

  37. You’ve really captured the power of the waves, but I must say my favourite of this collection is Moonlit Bay – just beautiful.
    Alison

    • Thanks so much, Alison. Point Reyes was wild on the coast last week. Seeing the bay lit up with the full moon the other night was a marvelous moment– I’m happy you like that image. Wishing you a fantastic weekend. 🙂

Love to hear what you think...
