Wonderful photo essay! My favorites are torii gate abstract, Bad Luck and Japanese Maple compositions. Backlit Japanese Maples are quite worthy photo candidates. Also love the authentic clothing captures!

Well this was a visual delight, bringing back such good memories. I’d love to go back to Japan. I think my faves are bamboo, torii lantern, and especially mother and child – what a wonderful shot.

The photo of a couple expresses that there are still people in relationship in Japan otherwise news always tell that Japanese are no more interested being in relationship.

Hi Moazzam, That’s an interesting observation. I am curious about Japanese social relationships. I believe the image, “Stolling” are tourists who rented kimonos for the experience which is very common in Kyoto. “Mother and Daughter” is an actual Japanese ceremony. Interesting to see people wearing traditional costumes just strolling around the streets. You have captured the essence of Japan and I am glad you included a Japanese Maple 🙂

Thanks, Jude. The leaves were just starting to turn so I was happy to find some early birds. Many of the people strolling the streets are tourists experiencing wearing a kimono. Thankfully, I found some Japanese ceremonies that were authentic.

I have been to China but not Japan. Some images remind me a little of China, in that there is so much rich detail that I cannot understand, but that fascinates me.
