I do like flowers, particularly when the background is blurry. So beautiful. However, I like waves just as much.

Once again, you found a worthwhile quote, and your inclusion of people in the landscape again gives that image a quality that I like very much: it helps put me there. I love how that view in “Waves” is framed, and the way the light is handled in “Landing.” The Ice plant is great, too. It looks like spring has rushed right into summer, and you’re taking it all in….but slowly, like friendship. 🙂

I’m more familiar with east coast wildflowers, but I recognize Quaking Grass (Briza maxima) and CA Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) and the pink with the bee may be Lewisia, but am not certain. Standing among all those flowers nodding in the breeze must be heaven!

Beautiful, thanks for sharing! If you ever want to see some of the amazing wildflower meadows at Mt. Rainier let me know, I’d love to take you. To quote John Muir: “The most luxuriant and the most extravagantly beautiful of all the alpine gardens I ever beheld in all my mountain-top wanderings.” (referring to Paradise at Mt. Rainier).

Thank you, Ann-Christine. Loads of bees…we must always to root for them. The ice plant grows all over the coastline on the rocks– a red succulent that I am captivated by. You’ll see some in my next post. 🙂

Oh, wow, those are spectacular! I have to admit I rarely read quotations on people’s blogs, but the Lady Bird Johnson one caught my eye because of all the work she did to beautify Texas’s highways with huge swaths of wildflowers. The look of your fields of flowers against the blue surf is just gorgeous.

Beautiful Jane. Is it a superbloom or does this happen every year??? Especially liked the ice plant – which I’ve never heard of.

Thanks, Tina. I thought it was going to be an off year since it was drier but this is normal. Not a superbloom. Glad you like the ice plant. I’m sure you’ve seen the red and green succulents that are very common on the coast. These are the flowers.
