Hi E– Yes! It is rewarding to find the extraordinary in the every day. So glad you like these, it was a good week looking out my windows. ๐ Thanks very much.
Hi Jane! The first lovely photo reminds me of an image from awhile back I believe you captured with a cellphone while driving on the bridge in the rain – which always sticks in my mind as a fav.
The two major colors adjacent to each other on the second are stunning – The artsy โcolor wheelโ is smiling … ! (While the food pyramid may have changed, the ole art class color wheel will prob safely remain ๐
Thank you, Diane! And for remembering my bridge and rain image. So nice. These two were a perfect contrast of weather in a week. I’m so glad your color theory came back with the second. ๐ It works!
Wow, just… wow! The second image is great! But the first one, the droplets on fire… wow, thatโs an amazing picture! Glad Iโve found your website ๐
Hi Bjorn, How nice! Thank you so much– those two contrasting images made for a great week of photography. Glad you like them and I appreciate you stopping by and thank you for following me! ๐
Gee, I think it’s rain AND shine, and they’re brought together beautifully in that first photo Jane. And I like the way the boat’s wake echoes the bridge cable lines. Happy weekend to you!
Thank you, Lynn. You’re right, it’s both in the first. ๐ Happy you enjoyed and I love your comparison in the second. You have all the angles. ๐ Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Thanks (again) for the reminders of why I fell in love with The City and the Bridge! You do manage to distill the essence of the charm and beauty of the great city by the bay.
When I look at your awesome images and skip the titles I see a sunrise after a heavy rain in the night and a fisherman who is leaving SF heading towards the ocean (even if it is the wrong direction). Wonderful examples of storytelling images, Jane. The focus in #1 is spot on the rain drops and the color flow from warm to cold in #2 is excellent. You were at the right place, at the right time. Happy days. Reinhold
Hi Reinhold, It means so much to read your analysis. The one thing we share is knowing that words aren’t always needed to tell a story. I like to let the viewer come to his or her own conclusion without doing the describing for them and you have done that so beautifully. Thank you very much and I hope you have a wonderful weekend creating images. ๐
That opening photo takes me right back to my highschool days, lying on my bed in my parents’ house, in awe through the drops on the window at the might of an African thunderstorm, and without a care in the world…
Hi Dries, What a lovely memory and it means a lot that the image brought them back. Days when there wasn’t a care in the world…ah, youth. Thank you for your great response.
As beautiful as the photo of the bridge is, I am blown away by the first photo of the sunset through the raindrops. I cannot remember seeing anything like it before now. Outstanding work, Jane. Wow.
ฮฉ
Hi Allan, That means a lot, thank you so much. It was a moment of “seeing” that was very exciting and even more so that the result was what I envisioned. Really pleased you like it.
Jane, Long time no see or speak………………still in Charleston and still selling real estate.
I think you are a master of composition. I love cleaness of the shots and lighting as well. I would think you could sell many of these photos for commercial purposes…….even if you have no desire to do so. I love the feel of these recent photos……they seem to be down to the essence of the beauty that is in front of you.
I really, really like what you have shown in the group. Love to hear where all you and Bob have traveled recently…………..I am envious.
Casey, How nice to hear from you! Very pleased that you still follow my work, thanks so much. I will send you an email to catch up. Hope all is well with you!
