  1. These photos are making me homesick, that’s how beautiful they are!

  2. I was away and missed this – the flower on the steps somehow plays against all the other images in a way that might sum up San Francisco, at lesast an older notion of the city. I’m not sure about now – haven’t been there in a long time! This post showcases your versatility – and your love for San Francisco.

    • Hi Lynn, I love your thoughts on these — the flower especially poignant during the current 50th anniversary of the “Summer of Love”. Thank you for your kind comment and I’m happy you enjoyed this set.

  3. Jane–what a gorgeous collection! I love that cable car shot. It’s great that your home town continues to inspire you.

  4. Staycations are the best, and of course the least expensive. What a wonderful inspiring gallery with the prize winner for me the stunning “cable car thrills”. Just wonderful Jane πŸ™‚

  5. The one photo with the raindrops on the flower is beautiful!

    • Hi Esmee, I’m happy you like that one– there’s a wonderful park on my street and they do a great job with the flowers. I think that may be the last of our rain for a while. Thanks for you kind comment.

  6. Great, great, great! As always πŸ™‚

  7. Home sweet home…
Marvelous pictures! They are all fabulous! Each with an other story…

  8. What a wonderful area you live in, Jane, and you capture its character so beautifully.
    Thank you for sharing here.
    Have a wonderful week!

  9. love all of the photos, especially the kite boarders one!

  10. Very true quotes. That water looks cold, or maybe it’s just me thinking I will never be warm again.

  11. Home is home. It is wherever we feel it to be πŸ™‚ Love what you did to the cable car / tram shot. Great work on the illusion that it is going at top speed. Hope all those passengers held on tight πŸ™‚

    • Hi Mabel, So true, home is where you make it. Glad you like the cable car– the title is a bit tongue in cheek– SF natives know how slowly they usually go, although, I have seen some wild drivers giving the tourists a run for their money! Thanks for your great comment.

  12. Each of these beautiful photos captures a special moment in your beautiful city, but The Bridge always touches my heart the most.

  13. Awesome shots!!!

  14. Love this Jane! That cable car shot is absolutely amazing!!!

  15. Wow, what color. I especially like Cable Car Thrills.

  16. Knowing you, you will find beauty wherever you go… how fortunate to have it right out your front door!

  17. Superb images Jane. I really do need to get back to San Francisco.

  18. Beautiful, beautiful set. I’ve always liked the look of your city. Even had a job opportunity there, but Colorado would’ve always beckoned the heart. πŸ™‚

  19. Fantastic timing on the image of the Golden Gate. That’s a moody moment.

  20. loving your staycation!!!! gorgeous shots….we will get there!!! cable car thrills is just mindblowing ….what a capture….a great eye!!!

  21. Fantastic photos this week, Jane. The colors and shadow textures of the first photo warm my heart. It is hard to beat that early morning view of the bridge from Ft. Point.

  22. Great sayings to go with a beautiful set of photos.

  23. Magnificent images, Jane! You have such a great variety here!

  24. All excellent. I really like the blur in the trolley car photo!

  25. Awesome pictures and lovely quotes… Jane, you rock!! ^_^ πŸ˜˜πŸ˜ƒ

  26. I enjoyed viewing your series so much. Stunning.

  27. Gorgeous photos. I just watched Vertigo, didn’t know it was filmed in San Francisco.

  28. A great place for a staycation! So many excellent photos, Jane! The clarity in first one (of the GG bridge), feels like I’m about to get splashed! The kite boarder shot is so well balanced (wind surfing uses a bigger board and a sail). My niece kite boards in Santa Cruz and loves it. You live in a beautiful city!

    • Hi Eliza, Thank you! It sure is fun finding the great SF light. Happy you enjoyed and I am happy you gave me the heads up about the kite boarders- now corrected- they are all amazing to me! This was a bit north of Santa Cruz…such fun to watch.

  29. Grest images….interesting perspective very evocative….thanks for sharing 😊 Trees

  30. Excellent pictures. I especially like the first one, because it makes me feel that I’m standing right at the golden gate bridge. The perfect framing!

  31. Really love this set, Jane. Beautiful. I have a niece in SF someplace… πŸ€”

  32. Wonderful series from san francisco jane.

  33. Loved them all but really liked the panoramic city view. High rises on right, neighborhoods on left and bay and bridge in the background.

  34. Why leave when so much beauty is around your front door? And your lens has a way of finding every ounce!

  35. I LOVE all of your quotes. There are so many meanings of the word home, especially as we (some of us) get older and
have no one from home left. Beautiful pictures and lovely thoughts.

Love to hear what you think...
