  3. Amazing landscapes and images. I really like the ones with an endless view that take me from foreground to the mountains and beyond. I had no idea this treasure existed and I’m glad you shared your collection.

  12. Absolutely stunning! Nature is the greatest artist! Thanks for sharing.

  13. Liked the impressionist rendering. It’s wall-hanging ready. πŸ™‚

  14. This is beautiful Jane. As a photographer I find that Yellow and Orange are the most difficult colors to photography, to get it right in their true palette of color. What do you think?

    • Hi Cornelia, I’ve always thought reds were difficult but agree about orange and yellow. Less is more in post-process. I was amazed how different the hues of color looked depending on which way the sun was hitting them. Happy you enjoyed this series– thanks very much.

  15. Amazing Jane – lucky you for having caught the super bloom. I’m insanely jealous πŸ˜€ Glorious oranges!

    • Hi Tina, It really was a treat to see and photograph. They were all closed when we arrived and I was so relieved when the sun came out and they opened almost before our eyes. Just happening now in SF so hope to find some more. Glad you enjoyed- thanks!

  16. GORGEOUS series, Jane. All that orange must have been fairly glowing. Love the unusual clouds, too.

  17. Lovely to see them in the wild. Such a glorious cheerful colour.

  18. Oh, my goodness, Jane, I have never seen so many poppies all in one place, and they are absolutely gorgeous, especially surrounded by that beautiful blue sky!

  19. I so want to be there Jane. Thank you for sharing these wonderful images, and as for “Orange you glad?” – Oh yes πŸ™‚

    • Hi Andrew, I was fortunate to be in the LA area and realized how close it was and we could go on a weekday… it is swarming with cars and people on the weekends. I was glad, too! (funny how a childhood knock-knock joke popped out! πŸ˜„) Thanks for stopping by.

  20. Gorgeous place and wonderful photos. I was glad to go on this little walk with you – so beautiful. My favourite photo is poppies and mountains.

  21. It looks like you’re enjoying the fruits of the winter. I love that Kandinsky quote – very amusing. I think my favorites are the photographs that show the trails, they lead the eye and put me right into the picture…well, as close as I can get!

    • Hi Lynn, We are lucky with the rains ushering all these flowers in. Must be similar for you up north. Glad you like the trail shots, I thought the leading lines were very appealing. Thank you!

  22. Wonderful, Jane! I love poppies, and especially a field full of them for as far as the eye can see.

  23. All the elements were with you on this trip – those poppies are gorgeous!

  24. I’ve seen enough orange for a lifetime, Jane, but these fields of poppies are stunning.

  25. That’s a lot of poppies, which weren’t my favourite flower until I read about blue ones. Blue poppies. Imagine. Glorious. Interesting pic with the windmills. I know how big they are, which makes the shot quite interesting.

  26. Clouds and Poppies is amazing! Also thanks for the orange quote from Kandinsky πŸ™‚

  27. Gorgeous!

  34. Beautiful images Jane πŸ™‚ I love the color they add to the landscape.

  35. Orange is my favorite color…. on my birthday the grands all wear orange and we go to Red’s” for a bite to eat… these poppies are happy reminders!

  36. What a dreamscape you captured, Jane! I love the one with the cloud formations. We need to feed our eyes and soul with colors. Great series – thanks for sharing! Have a great week! Marcus

  37. Oh my. Happy spring to you Jane 😊

  38. Those orange poppies are quite a sight. Amazing landscape shots, and even that blurry shot is so artistic. Such a creative perspective πŸ™‚ I really like the first quote, and I agree. Orange is such a happy colour but at the same time not as ‘loud’ as red…not so in-your-face and it is more relaxing, more approachable. Like that sea of poppies πŸ™‚

  39. Love it! I do like a good carpet of poppies…..

  40. Oh, my , how good does it get…Orange, the best colour in the palette!!

  41. beautiful – as the say β€œCalifornia, still a magical vanity fair.”

  42. πŸ™‚ Absolutely beautiful pictures – I love the colors!
Have a very HAPPY day πŸ™‚

  43. Oh how I’d love to walk there… so gorgeous! And you’ve captured the beauty wonderfully!

  44. Love those warm colours…the poppies were out in parts of Morocco where i visited recently 😊

  45. Jane, you’re in one of my favorite areas. The wild flowers are beautiful. Even more so than last year’s batch.

Love to hear what you think...
