Orange is the new… 🙂 Poppies, I only knew the red one, but the orange are also very beautiful! Also the scenery is beautiful!

This is beautiful Jane. As a photographer I find that Yellow and Orange are the most difficult colors to photography, to get it right in their true palette of color. What do you think?

Hi Cornelia, I’ve always thought reds were difficult but agree about orange and yellow. Less is more in post-process. I was amazed how different the hues of color looked depending on which way the sun was hitting them. Happy you enjoyed this series– thanks very much.

It looks like you’re enjoying the fruits of the winter. I love that Kandinsky quote – very amusing. I think my favorites are the photographs that show the trails, they lead the eye and put me right into the picture…well, as close as I can get!

That’s a lot of poppies, which weren’t my favourite flower until I read about blue ones. Blue poppies. Imagine. Glorious. Interesting pic with the windmills. I know how big they are, which makes the shot quite interesting.

Hi Nicole, We happened to be in LA so it was easy. It’s about 1 1/2 hours NE of the city past Santa Clarita – beautiful drive through a canyon.

Orange is my favorite color…. on my birthday the grands all wear orange and we go to Red’s” for a bite to eat… these poppies are happy reminders!

Those orange poppies are quite a sight. Amazing landscape shots, and even that blurry shot is so artistic. Such a creative perspective 🙂 I really like the first quote, and I agree. Orange is such a happy colour but at the same time not as ‘loud’ as red…not so in-your-face and it is more relaxing, more approachable. Like that sea of poppies 🙂
