  14. This is beautiful Jane. As a photographer I find that Yellow and Orange are the most difficult colors to photography, to get it right in their true palette of color. What do you think?

    • Hi Cornelia, I’ve always thought reds were difficult but agree about orange and yellow. Less is more in post-process. I was amazed how different the hues of color looked depending on which way the sun was hitting them. Happy you enjoyed this series– thanks very much.

    • Hi Tina, It really was a treat to see and photograph. They were all closed when we arrived and I was so relieved when the sun came out and they opened almost before our eyes. Just happening now in SF so hope to find some more. Glad you enjoyed- thanks!

    • Hi Andrew, I was fortunate to be in the LA area and realized how close it was and we could go on a weekday… it is swarming with cars and people on the weekends. I was glad, too! (funny how a childhood knock-knock joke popped out! 😄) Thanks for stopping by.

  21. It looks like you’re enjoying the fruits of the winter. I love that Kandinsky quote – very amusing. I think my favorites are the photographs that show the trails, they lead the eye and put me right into the picture…well, as close as I can get!

  25. That’s a lot of poppies, which weren’t my favourite flower until I read about blue ones. Blue poppies. Imagine. Glorious. Interesting pic with the windmills. I know how big they are, which makes the shot quite interesting.

  38. Those orange poppies are quite a sight. Amazing landscape shots, and even that blurry shot is so artistic. Such a creative perspective 🙂 I really like the first quote, and I agree. Orange is such a happy colour but at the same time not as ‘loud’ as red…not so in-your-face and it is more relaxing, more approachable. Like that sea of poppies 🙂
