Nice going. A worthy successor to the famous picture of moonrise over Hernandez made by Ansel Adams, who grew up in San Francisco (and as a boy got his nose broken in the earthquake).

It is. I recently got back, exhausted, from a month in New Zealand.
When I was above Berkeley on two afternoons last October I watched the fog roll in over the Golden Gate. I wasn’t able to record it as nicely as you did, but I experimented with a different approach in which I underexposed by three stops and let the sun star in the picture:

What a beautiful scene! One of my favorite photos of mine is of the moon rising as the sun sets in the Himalayas – the opposite of yours, but a lucky convergence (and capture) either way.
