Driving this rural road in Sonoma County is a tranquil exploration of farms and roadside stands. Stops at Worker Bee Farm and Wild Flour Bakery in Freestone, California were highlights on this sunny autumn morning.

I know, Fall (at least the earlier part) is so lovely. We were driving on the interstate towards Boston (which is north of us) and the trees made a truly wonderful show this year. Ah, those reds and greens mitigated the boredom of a long drive.

Oh, wow. Such beautiful color. I get all primitive hunter-gatherer at this time of year and your pictures have me jonesing for the next market.
(That craggy Hubbard squash is really nice. So is the pumpkin dew. You’ve taken the familiar and made it your own.)

Roadside markets, they’re pretty much done for the season here. Melons gone, corn gone. The root vegetables, limited selection. I haven’t seen freshly-made bread on the roadside here.
Nice, nice photos, Jane.
