  1. These are very nice scenes for the morning walk. Love the texture of the cypress bark and view of the field of grasses.

  2. You have captured the beauty and sense of you walking place.

  3. There is a wonderful mood to this set! I especially like the ‘Fence and Path’ … I am so curious to know what is around the corner!

  4. Reblogged this on Amanda's Lives and commented:
Jane Lurie’s talent seems to just keep getting better each time I visit her site. Please do yourself a favour and drop by. here’s a sneak preview.

  5. Oh, my gosh Jane, is it possible? Your photographs seem to be even more spectacular than last time I visited! I have definitely been away far too long. πŸ™‚

  6. Beautiful landscape, wonderful photos!

  7. Now this is a morning walk I could do until the days end πŸ™‚ A wonderful selection of photos and beauty of nature and of your backyard ~ very pleasantly envious πŸ™‚

  8. Beautiful photos. The “Cypress Path” image reminds me of a similar trail on the Presidio grounds.

  9. Lovely calm collection.
    Love the cypress path.
    No need to reply, Jane.

  10. More than a wonderful walk Jane and along with your excellent shots I’m sure you gathered some wonderful thoughts!

    • Yes, indeed, Patti. One of the most serene places on this part of the coast. I did think it would be a good place to write a novel…if I were a writer. πŸ˜‰ Thanks and I’m glad you enjoyed.

  11. just beautiful, peaceful shots…..love the woods along side the ocean….very peaceful!!😘

  12. The Cypress Path shot is especially fine, Jane. How many hours did it take you to drag yourself away from all that form and texture? πŸ™‚ As always, I do so appreciate coming along on your walks and seeing things through your eyes.

  13. Lovely beautiful photographs. But I am not sure that I agree with Miss Sontag. It seems to me that everything exists to end in a story.

    • Hi Don, Thank you– glad you enjoyed the photos. Interesting twist on the Sontag quote and true, although, I would add that I hope my photography aptly tells a story. Good thought and something I will ponder.

  14. I feel like I want to step right into the picture and go for a walk! Wonderful image 😊.

  15. Great series, Jane! I love the tree image! Sometimes I do hug trees. They are so full of life. This would have been one of them.

  16. Lovely images, Jane. I would love to be strolling through each of the peaceful places featured in your photos. πŸ™‚

  17. A reflective stroll this morning… Thank you.

  18. Lovely post in somber tones. Especially liked the cypress path.

  19. A special photo with a mysterious atmosphere.

  20. Beautiful calming series. Just lovely.

  21. what a wonderful view!!!!!

  22. What an eye for the right framing…probably said that before but never mind, I say it again.

  23. What a superb photoset Jane – you live in a beautiful part of the world

  24. I really like the first photo of the grasses. It looks like a musical score.

  25. So much of your walk looks familiar Jane – some great memories. Teriffic response.

  26. Stunning, Jane. You have an amazing eye! What is your favorite lens?

  27. Jane, what a beautiful morning walk you took me, I love Annie Leibovitz quote, that is so true for a photographer’s eye.

    • Hi Cornelia, I’m glad you walked along with me πŸ™‚ The Sonoma coast is full of inspiration and I do love finding quotes that speak to me. I’m glad you find them uplifting. Thank you so much.

  28. I LOVE this part of California, Jane. Your photos make my heart yearn to be there! Simply beautiful.

  29. Beautiful morning walks all round, Jane. There’s a tranquil feel about these images, what with the early tones. Love the Susan Sontag quote. So much can be captured in a photograph, and so much can be said too.

    • Hi Mabel, We both know how special the early morning light is. πŸ™‚ Here, the summertime fog arrives in the morning and accentuates the colors and mutes the light. A lovely experience. Glad you enjoyed this post, thanks so much.

  30. You are causing me to add Sea Ranch to our Day Trip list. Haven’t been up that way for a time…it is now time to go back. But tomorrow it is Boonville first πŸ™‚

    • Hi Frank, That’s great. We hadn’t been that far up since last year and it was a treat. Coming back down toward Bodega is as thrilling as Big Sur! Boonville is great– we stopped there on the way up for lunch πŸ™‚ Happy you enjoyed my photos– thank you!

  31. Fence Line is so very painterly. All of these are wonderful, but Fence Line is exquisite. Best, Babsje

    • Babsje, Morning on Sea Ranch defines painterly in photos, I think, especially when it is foggy. The colors and mood are so appealing. Thank you and coming from your eye, that means a lot.

  32. Lovely shots as always, Jane. 😊

  33. Truly, a beautiful morning walk! Thanks also for the accompanying quotations.

Love to hear what you think...
