Living in Sydney a couple of years ago meant experiencing our first holiday in the summer season. We found this scene one morning – the massive “Clause for a Cause” run along the harbor. An amazing gathering of Santas.
Aussies sure know how to have fun.
“It came without ribbons! It came without tags! It came without packages, boxes or bags!… Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before! “Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas… perhaps… means a little bit more!”
~Dr. Seuss
May your holidays be merry and bright!
What fun… fantastic!
It really was, Denise. Thank you!
That is so Australian Jane and look at the blue sky. Had to smile at the 3 santas…
Hi Pauline– How I miss Australia! This was a fond memory of holiday spirit. Thank you so much.
This is brilliant Jane! A beautiful way to bring in the holidays and for me the New Year ~ a great post and best to you with your writing and photography in the New Year. Cheers to a great 2016.
Hi Randall– Thank you! Glad this one brought a smile. Wishing you a wonderfully creative 2016 and I look forward to more sharing with you on our blogs in the new year.
Santa’s and yet no snow, so strange to see but then again i’m from Canada so a Christmas with no snow is odd. Although this year it has been unseasonably warm. Happy Holidays Jane!
Hi Mark- And much colder in CA than in NY. Very strange. Glad you liked these Santas and I hope you have a wonderful New Year!
I love this, Jane! Wonderful shots, as always! All the best in 2016.
Thanks, Patti! A fun memory. Happy New Year to you!
You’re very welcome, Jane! It was a great weekend. All the best in the new year.
WoW .. surreal … a Santa stampede in the making ..
Glorious fun and a great capture Jane !
Thanks so much, Poppy. It was a very fun morning to watch this unfold. Happy New Year!

Thanks, Linda. I couldn’t resist. Happy New Year to you and yours.
The first one’s a stunning sight, Jane! Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones 🙂
Hi Uday– A Santa shocker. 🎅🏻 Thank you and I wish you and yours a Happy 2016!
Oh, very cool! It’s the massing of all that red that makes it so impressive.
Hope your holidays are happy and looking forward to your posts in the new year.
Best, Patricia
Hi Patricia- Thanks! Brought back some great memories of Sydney posting these. Happy New Year and I do look forward to our continued smiles and sharing together. 😀
I LOVE THIS!!!! what a christmas treat!!! Merry Merry to u guys!!! HUG
Thanks, April! Hope you all had a great holiday. Happy 2016!
Great! Especially as a kid we adopted every ritual of the Northern Hemisphere Christmas without snow! Hot English roast when it was 30 celsius, not Fahrenheit, outside. Have a great Christmas and New Year!
Hi Stephen, That is funny that you wouldn’t have “summer meals” but I guess comfort food spells Christmas! Hope all is well in Melbourne for your summertime holidays. Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas, Jane!
Thanks so much, Allan! Hope yours was happy and that you have a great start to the New Year!
Unbelievable! 🙂

Hi Dina, Quite a scene! Thanks for enjoying. Hope you had a happy Christmas and wishing you all a wonderful 2016!
Traditional Santa garb sounds a bit too much for a Sydney summer, but shorts are a great adaptation to the costume!
Hi Eliza- And they were running a race in them! Glad you like this fun scene. Happy New Year to you!
Thank you, same to you, Jane!
Considering its summer in Oz when it’s Christmas this must have been really special to gather so many at one time. Great event and great photo to capture its energy.
Hi Gingham Lane-It really was fun to be greeted by this on my morning run. And they were running, too. Glad you enjoyed this set. Thank you!
Wow, that’s crazy. What a sight to see. I’ve never seen a Santa in shorts before. Thanks for sharing, Jane!
Hi Jay- Times a thousand! Glad you enjoyed– thank you!
Wow Jane, that’s some gathering!
Hi Patti- It was a strange and wonderful sight. A Christmas miracle. 😊Glad you enjoyed- thanks and hope you have a happy new year!
That definitely gets the holiday cheer flowing!
Hi Debbie- Glad it did! Hope you had a good holiday. Thanks!
HO, HO, Ho! Can’t wait to share these Santas in Sydney with the grand kids!

Happy New Year to you, Jane. BTW, I love your header photo.

Hi– Thanks, Allan. I need to get up to the headlands and shoot some more night shots. Glad you like this one.
Happy Holidays to you and Bob. Love the Santas! Hope to see you in the New Year but it will not be February. Busy with Mary Jackson. Can you email your address? I’d like to send you my Christmas card. Love, Cathy
Hi Cathy- Happy holidays! Will send you our info. Thanks and happy new year!
Jane, wonderful pictures for this holiday season. Made me smile.
I’m so glad these brightened your day, Cecily. Thank you! Hope you had a great holiday.
Great photo, Jane! 🙂
Thanks so much, Javier. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year for you too, Jane! 🙂 My best wishes 🙂
Love it! This was out of the ordinary!
Thanks, Maria! I was going for a surprise! 🙂
You did it!
Hahaha how funny this… photo’s for a big smile!! And how strange not being in summer at that time of the year… isn’t it? I was once in New-Zealand for four months, also in the Holliday season. But I did not see as many Santa’s…
Hi Noortje- Glad it brought a smile. A summer Christmas is fun to experience once, isn’t it? Happy you enjoyed- thank you!
Indeed amazing!
It was a astounding to come upon, Herbert. Glad you like these. Thanks.
Ha! What if all of them started to give away presents 😊
Funny, Maciek! Hope you had a great holiday and got lots of presents. 😊
Oh, I remember when you sent us one of these photos Jane, I loved it then and love them now! What a perfect choice for the holiday week challenge!!
Very happy you like this Aussie moment, Tina. Thanks so much.
Thanks, Jane. Your Sydney Santas gave me the biggest Holidays smile of the season. The Aussies do have a corner on the Wonderful Life market. Your captions are choice. Your pictures sublime. I loved the intimacy of “We Three Santas.” Happy Holidays back at ya mate!
Hi Steve- I am so glad you enjoyed this Aussie-Santa moment. Such fun. Thanks very much for your appreciation and it’s great to hear from you!
That’s a lotta Santas!
Hi Laura- I may have gotten similar shots at Santacon in SF… Glad you enjoyed the down under version- thanks!
I went a few years ago. It’s the Santa Crawl I think? Problem is there are too many ugly naked Santas. I definitely preferred yours!
Haha– not a pretty sight! 🙂 Thanks!
no lol
Love the sea of red…I can feel the warmth…have a wonderful holiday ~ cheers from Alberta ☺️
Isn’t it fun, Hedy? Wishing you a fabulous holiday, too. Thanks!
That’s a lot of Santas!
Indeed, Richard. It was quite hilarious. Ho-ho! Thanks for enjoying.
Love the way australians have fun! They are leaders on that! Cheers from Argentina!
So true and this morning was incredible to see. Glad you liked it, Roberto. Thanks! PS I loved your beautiful country.
Great you like Argentina! Have you been around here recently?
A couple of years ago. We hiked in Patagonia and also spent time in Buenos Aires. Fabulous!
