“Imagine a city where graffiti wasn’t illegal, a city where everybody could draw whatever they liked. Where every street was awash with a million colours and little phrases. Where standing at a bus stop was never boring. A city that felt like a party where everyone was invited, not just the estate agents and barons of big business. Imagine a city like that and stop leaning against the wall – it’s wet.”

  1. I am torn about street art – sometimes it is hard to distinguish between vandalism and art – but regardless, it takes serious talent to be able to create all of these images. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your photos. They captured the liveliness of the images very well.

    • Hi Imelda, And there is a fine line– big difference between tagging and murals, stencils etc. I’m glad you enjoyed these and I agree, in most cases, these are serious and talented artists. Thanks so much!

  5. Fantastic images! I’m a huge fan of street art & have loved it for years! Back in the old days I had the honor of working with Keith Haring and some of the real “trailblazers” of that time. I’m so happy to see what a great scene there is in Melbourne – really fantastic! Thank you!

    • Hi Mahree- What a great experience that must have been working with Keith Haring- I often see his influence. I’m so glad this brought back good memories. Hope you get to Melbourne in the future. Thank you!

  6. I love street art so thanks for sharing some wonderful work.

    • Hi Mike- Thank you very much and I appreciate that you forwarded it on to your friend. There’s a PhD in graffiti? That’s fantastic. Would love to know what he thinks of the Melbourne art scene. Thankfully, it has cooled down here.
