“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more” ~ George Gordon Byron
“I have never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude.” ~ Henry David Thoreau
“For most of history, man has had to fight nature to survive; in this century he is beginning to realize that, in order to survive, he must protect it.” ~ Jacques-Yves Cousteau
“Sit in reverie, and watch the changing color of the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind”
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Stunning; just stunning!

A lot of the San Diego coast can look like that too, except for your first shot with the coastal flowers. I’ve never seen this much here and it looks very pretty.

Hi Milka, Thank you. I love that red Ice Plant and all the succulents along the coast. Might be too hot for them in San Diego? They are gorgeous. Appreciate your comment.

We have some plants but they don’t look as colorful. Unless I don’t know the right spots. 🙂

Pretty Coastal flowers my fav with the winding twisty coastline in the distance; the Cliffs & Foam beckons me to climb down there to just lay and gaze skyward. Watch out for rogue waves when you are doing this stuff Jane, Holy cats! dsup

Hi Diane, Coastal Flowers is a spot that I’ve returned to many times. I think the Ice Plant was radiant this time!
I never venture out on the rocks and you never see people swimming- just surfers- a treacherous stretch of coast. Thanks so much for your comments.

I think the “morning fog” is my favorite. Always enjoy following your journey. Things on the East Coast have been wet and steamy. Your photos are like nature’s air conditioning.

Jane,
Your first quote, from Byron, was my father’s all time favorite. We said it over and over to one another, in the words of Faulkner….. “as he lay dying”. Your photos do the quotation the justice it deserves and bring tears to my eyes.

It has to be the best coastline in America. I will never forget that coast. I only went as far South as Carmel and not too far North. Unfortunately I did not have a camera with me at the time. You must have some nice prints. Print them big!
