Harvest Time

The cold weather is making an appearance now in South Carolina.  It got me thinking about autumn passing and a series I shot here a while ago on John’s Island of farmers harvesting pole beans. Pictured here is Arturo, who was kind enough to allow me to photograph him as he examined the beans and filled the bags. The pole beans were colorful, the day was bright and the company a pleasure.

  1. nicely documented and cool to see his happy face 🙂

  2. You made Arturo’s day! Love these earthy pics – my grandfather had a small farm and what I would give to have had him photographed in his old blue overalls! Linda

  3. Harvest Basket is such a great shot. That was such a good idea. One of my favorites.

  4. Nice to see these shots again. Such a beautiful series.

  5. Love these shots, Jane!

  6. This Thanksgiving I am so grateful for Jane who shares the beauty of God’s world , the beauty of the harvest with all the colors enhanced and the blending of the hands that gathered the harvest.

  7. Good stuff here. Where’s Sidi?

  8. what beautiful warm colors ….a true comfort food……the farmers look so content handling them!
