In the words of Frank Costanza, on Seinfeld, “Serenity Now!”
These are the words that my wonderful family and friends might be saying after the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy. In my home state of New Jersey, as you know, many are enduring extreme flooding and days without power, heat and water. People in the greater New York region are facing situations that they never imagined could happen.
I am thinking of you all every day.
Here are some photographs that may help bring down your blood pressure, make you smile or give you a moment of tranquility. I send my warm wishes for a quick recovery to you all.
“Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.” ~ Victor Borge
“If we couldn’t laugh we would all go insane.” ~ Robert Frost
After a storm comes a calm. ~ Matthew Henry
If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. ~Mother Teresa
Serenity is knowing that your worst shot is still pretty good. ~Johnny Miller
Gratitude changes the pangs of memory into a tranquil joy. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person’s ultimate good as far as it can be obtained. ~ C.S Lewis
When you love someone, all your saved-up wishes start coming out. ~ Elizabeth Bowen
The black and white is definitely soothing – I never thought of that before. Although the alligator might not be lowering anyone’s blood pressure! 🙂 BEAUTIFUL! 🙂

I like how the little shack in “Tranquil Morning on Honey Pond, VT” acts as a focal point. It’s so small compared to the nature around it, but really draws in attention.
