Caracara and Owl

Two stunning birds I came across in Patagonia- a Caracara which is in the falcon family and a tiny owl.

The colors of this imposing bird blend nicely with the Argentinian fields in the background.

We were hiking in Torres Del Paine and I heard this soft cooing off to my right and there she was checking us out calmly perched in the tree. Fortunately, I had my 70-200mm ready and was able to get a number of shots before we moved on. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the type of owl (maybe someone will be able to identify it?)

Owls are so cool.
